  The Kostroma State Drama Theater was founded in 1808. Ostrovsky is one of the oldest theaters in Russia. Kostroma Drama Theater has a unique collection of theatrical costumes, which became the basis of the Museum of Theatrical Costume.   The museum is located in the house where Fyodor Grigorievich Volkov, a native of Kostroma, the founder of the Russian National Theater, spent his childhood.
  
  The exhibition features 15 costumes that were used in productions based on Ostrovsky's works – "The Forest", "There wasn't a penny, but suddenly Altyn", "Simplicity is enough for any wise man", "The Last Victim", "Hot Heart", as well as sketches and photographs from performances. The oldest of the presented costumes was made in 1963.
  
  We invite you to visit the museum of theatrical costume and get acquainted with the exhibition "A fascinating journey to the Berendey tribe or once again about love ...". Once you find yourself in the atmosphere of the scenery for A.N. Ostrovsky's play "The Snow Maiden", you will be able to reflect on the literary basis of the fairy-tale play, on the characteristics of the characters, and on the fate of the fairy-tale girl. The exhibition features 20 costumes, unique in their design and implementation. Pre–Christian is a pagan style with ancient oriental elements.
  
  The exhibition "We owe everything to Volkov"
  
  Many wonderful people were born on Kostroma land. One of them is Fyodor Grigorievich Volkov, the founder of the first publicly accessible theater in Russia. The decree on the foundation of the state theater was issued by Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. The first actor played an important role in the palace coup of another Empress Catherine II. You will learn about all this when you visit the exhibition.

  Today, one of the visiting cards of Yaroslavl is a tile that appeared here more than 300 years ago.
  
  During the tour we will visit the former Korovnitskaya settlement, famous for its flooded meadows and clay deposits. It became the center of pottery brick and tile production. If there were 19 tile factories in Yaroslavl in the 18th century, then 18 were located here.

  • Teply Church – built in 1669, dedicated to the icon of the Vladimir Mother of God. A chapel dedicated to St. Nicholas the Wonderworker was built on the south side of the altar.
  • The tent–shaped octagonal bell tower - the bells for it were cast at the Siberian factories of the Demidovs. The bell tower was named the Yaroslavl Candle for its slimness and elegance of form.
  • The Holy Gate is crowned with two tiers of octagons with a dome. Their facades are decorated with carved bricks and tiles.
  
  At the master class, you will learn the history of Yaroslavl tiles and their production technology. Each tile has its own symbolism, each plot is a separate story.
