Northern Lights and whales in the Barents Sea

The Kola Peninsula is the most accessible place in the world where you can see the northern Lights. In Russia, that's for sure!

There is a very beautiful Arctic nature here, in addition to the aurora, there are whales in the Barents Sea, tundra, abandoned villages, mountains and natural fresh seafood.

A distinctive feature of the tour is the duration of the boat trip and a comfortable ship with a sauna. We will also hike through the nature park and feed the reindeer on the farm. And all this within the framework of a 3-day tour!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Murmansk — Teriberka

Meeting time in the city and at the airport (transfer can pick you up by agreement from the city and airport). The meeting time is negotiated for each group. Usually in the range between 11:30 and 14:30 hours (in September and October) and 14-15 hours in November.

    Transfer to Teriberka 2.5–3 hours.

We check into a hotel on the shore of the Barents Sea on the edge of the village (so that electric illumination does not interfere).

Today we will enjoy the nature of Teriberka — we will go on a simple hike.

We will visit Dragon Beach (and a couple of our secret places) and reach the Small Battery Lake, whose waters pour into the Barents Sea, forming a waterfall.

The length of the trail is 10 km, the hike takes from 3 hours.

Depending on the weather and with enough time, you can manage to reach the fortifications of the Great Patriotic War — trenches built of stones and artillery batteries have been preserved.

For dinner, we will go to a restaurant where you can taste fresh seafood (cod/halibut steak, scallops and hedgehogs, as well as crab).

From 21:30 to 2-3 o'clock in the morning, hunting for the northern lights is possible.
