Did you know that the Murmansk region has its own mystical place? And the mountain in the gorge of which the stones have a regular rectangular shape? And even the image of a giant 74 meters high!

On this tour you will not only be able to see all these unusual places, but also admire nature from the top, try rowing and enjoy the view of the river with the magical color of the water.

The campaign is announced to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It is also planned to apply to the Route Qualification Commission of the Sports Tourism Federation of the Murmansk region.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Murmansk — Olenegorsk — Lovozero
Our journey begins in Murmansk. We leave at 09:00. On the way, we stop at Olenegorsk (if the group is joined at the Olenegorsk railway station).
Then we move to the village of Lovozera and unload at the starting point — Popovskoye Lake. Here we change clothes, pack our things, go through the briefing, have lunch along the way and set off on our way.
On Popovsky Lake, we try to row, adjust everything that causes discomfort, and go out through the channel into Lake Lovozero. Today we will walk about 10 km.
We get up to camp, relax, have dinner, get acquainted.

Day 2 - Lovozero — Motka — Seydozero and Lovozero tundra
We have breakfast in the morning, break camp and walk along the lake for about 20 km. Sometimes there are significant waves and headwinds on such a large lake, so the transition may not be easy.
Our destination is Motka: here the Seydyavrok River flows from Seydozero into Lovozero, and several kilometers of land separates us from Seydozero itself.
We're setting up camp, having dinner, having a sauna, and getting ready for tomorrow's hiking trip to the Seidozer and Lovozersk tundra.
This is a specially protected natural area, and we behave accordingly!

Day 3 - Ninchurt Mountain
We have breakfast at the camp and go to Mount Ninchurt — its height is 786 meters.
The name of the hill comes from the Sami words ninch (female breasts) and urt (mountain range). The mountain offers breathtaking views of the surrounding natural landscapes.
The slopes of the Ninchurt Mountain gorge seem to be made of blocks of regular rectangular shape. It seems to many that nature could not create such forms on its own, and, apparently, that is why the Lovozero tundra is shrouded in so many mystical legends.
However, these stones are of natural origin, and we will enjoy their shapes and views from the top.
We'll have lunch on the mountain and head back to the camp.

Day 4 - Seydozero — the Elmorayok River
We have breakfast at the camp and set off on foot along the northern part of the Seidozer coast along the trail to a place with a view of the rock with the image of Kuiva — this is an image of a giant 74 meters high. According to the legends of the local indigenous Sami people, he once lived in the Lovozero tundra.
We will go to the Elmorayok River, which flows from the pass of the same name and flows into the Seydozero. The water in this river has a "magical" turquoise color.
We will return to the camp in the evening. We will walk about 20 km on this day.

Day 5 - Motka — Kirillov Island
We have breakfast in a skein and set off along Lake Lovozera on the way back.
Along the way, we enjoy the views of the shores of Lovozero, as well as the Lovozero tundra.
We will spend the night in the area of Kirillov Island.

Day 6 - Popovskoe Lake — Olenegorsk — Murmansk
We have breakfast and walk about 15 km to Popovsky Lake, where we started our journey.
We pack our things, change clothes, and leave for Murmansk by car (on the way we stop at Olenegorsk, if there are those who leave the railway station).
We return by the same route: Olenegorsk station approximately 20:00, or to Murmansk by 22:00.

It's important to know

When traveling by kayak, we pack all our belongings in small air bags (20 liters) and then into the cockpits of the kayaks. Therefore, although things may not be the most ultralight, they should not be bulky.

Parking equipment.

A backpack (18-20 liters) without a frame, which will allow you to go on a one-day radial hike. At the same time, you can come with another bag and put your belongings in air bags.
A mat and a sleeping bag (comfort 0 C and below) — if your own. If not, then the equipment is included in the price.
Tent — with the possibility to lay out separate racks and fabric. If not, then the equipment is included in the price.
The tourist seat.
Personal tableware (KLMN) is not bulky, ideally it is collapsible.

Sleep clothes.

A set of thermal underwear — it's more comfortable to sleep in warm cotton, you may also need a hat, warm comfortable socks (or fleece socks)

The clothes we are wearing on the kayak (such clothes may be wet).

On top is a kayaker's jacket or a windproof/waterproof, splash—proof jacket. Under the jacket, we wear either a fleece jacket or an insulating layer made of another synthetic material. You can also wear the same waterproof trousers with synthetic thermal underwear underneath.
Splash-proof jacket and trousers can be rented from us.
Dry (drysuit) or neoprene wetsuit. If it's neoprene, then ideally up to 3 mm. But we strongly recommend that you always wear a dry suit when traveling by sea — you can rent from us.
Neoprene gloves and sneakers. If you don't have them, we'll give them to you.
It is worth taking a synthetic quick-drying cap with you.
Headdress (cap, panama hat, beanie).

Costume for the camp:

membrane jacket or poncho;
membrane trousers, or quick-drying;
thermal underwear;
T-shirt;
"fleece" or jacket;
a warm jacket (or a set of second warm thermal underwear for a membrane jacket);
trekking socks 1 pair, regular socks 2-3 pairs, 1 pair warm;

a personal small first—aid kit (personal medicines, antipruritic drugs, Band-Aids, activated charcoal, enzymes - it all depends on the characteristics of your body, which you probably know). In addition to a personal first-aid kit, there will be a group one, but it won't hurt to have your own.;

Types of obstacles:

Lake Lovozero - Vodnoe 1 ks – rolling, rapid, low shafts, which do not require a choice of line of movement and exploration.
The Ninchurt Mountain climb consists of simple grassy and crumbly slopes with a steepness of up to 30 degrees.

Features of the relief, flora and fauna.

The relief of Lake Lovozero is characterized by a strongly indented coastline. From the southern part, the lake is covered by mountains that form part of the Lovozersky mountain range. The mountains are not very high, the maximum height of the largest is 1100 meters, but they come close to the shore and protect this part well from the wind.

The relief of the Lovozero tundra, including Mount Ninchurt, is characterized by the following features:

The peaks are flat and rocky. There is no forest vegetation on the peaks.

The slopes are steep, covered in the lower part with coniferous forests.

Glaciers played a significant role in the formation of the relief: the peaks of the mountains are flat, deep river valleys with vertical walls resemble troughs, and many mountain circuses are natural depressions in the form of a bowl or amphitheater at the top.

To the Seidozer, the mountain slopes are cut off by sheer walls. There is also a plateau on Mount Ninchurt, the height of which varies slightly — up to 100-200 meters.

Climatic conditions.

In July, June, and August, the temperature is +12.5°C...+17.5°C. During this period, the least amount of rain falls, about 13 days per month, from 28.3 to 33.7 mm of precipitation falls. The number of clear days is from 6 to 13 days.
