Excursion to the Holy Annunciation Nikandra Desert - an Orthodox monastery in honor of St. Nikander the Hermit.
The once secluded monastery of the hermit Saint Nikander, founded more than four hundred years ago, has undergone times of both prosperity and decline, but has now found a revival. In recent years, fraternal buildings and temples have been re-erected.
The monastery is located in a unique place surrounded by an incredibly beautiful and grace-filled forest, and miracles are still being observed there. It is not uncommon to notice chronomirages here – mysterious figures of ancient monks. The monastery is also famous for its springs with healing water.
There are four of them in total and each has its own amazing miraculous properties: the "Eye spring" in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the spring of St. Alexander Svirsky (a bath with blue radon water + 6 ° C), the springs of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul and the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, the source of St. Nikander, according to legend, fossilized by the monk himself.
