Itinerary

Day 1 - Talab Islands Tour
07:00 Departure from Ligovsky Prospekt d.10 (gost. October).
07:30 Departure from Moskovskaya metro station, Demonstration passage.
Transfer to Pskov. An excursion along the road to Pskov.
Transfer to the embankment, departure by comfortable boats to the Talab Islands.
The Talab Islands are located in the southeastern part of Lake Pskov. The archipelago consists of three islands - about.Zalita, O.Belov and O. Talabenets. The latter is uninhabited, and there is no landing on it, but you can admire it by sailing past on a boat.

A tour of the holy island.
The protected areas of the Talab archipelago have always been a haven for secular and religious hermits who sought and found enlightenment and peace of mind here. On the island of Zalita there is a temple in the name of Nicholas the Wonderworker.
St. Nicholas Church is the main dominant of the island. The sound of the bell still serves as a "musical" beacon for fishermen lost in the fog.
Father Nikolai Guryanov served as rector here for more than 40 years. He had a special spiritual vision, saw through people, and spiritually helped everyone who came to him for help and support. We will have the opportunity to visit the temple, as well as visit the grave of Nikolai Guryanov.
The ferry to the island of Belova (Verkhny), a real paradise of wildlife, because there is a wide variety of birds on the island, including Red-listed song thrushes and gray herons. A pine grove, the pride of the locals, has been preserved on the island.
Attention! Walking tours are provided on the islands. The length of the route is 3 km.
Outdoor recreation, those who wish can swim.
Return to the pier.
Transfer to Elizarovo.
Excursion to the Spaso-Eleazar monastery.
You will see a beautifully restored XV century complex.
This is the former center of Pskov icon painting and the place where elder Philotheus formulated the main political doctrine of Moscow Rus "Moscow is the third Rome".

Day 2 - Shrines of Pskov

Whichever way you go on Pskov land, there are unique, snow-white Pskov churches everywhere, everywhere you will find an ancient monastery, a church on a hill, a holy spring.
Visit to the ancient Transfiguration Cathedral of the Mirozhsky Monastery.
Attention! A visit to the Transfiguration Cathedral in the Mirozhsky Monastery may be canceled due to bad weather conditions.
Transfer to Pechory.
Visit to the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery.
The monastery, located in a picturesque valley with karst sand caves, is a spiritual and cultural center, one of the largest monasteries in the country with a continuous centuries-old history. Sightseeing tour of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery, visiting two observation decks, where you can see the unique beauty and grandeur of the monastery. Independent visit to the nearby caves.
Lunch at the cafe on request (additionalpayment).
Tourists from Moscow can depart from Pskov by train 010H at 19:25 (transfer to Pskov railway station is provided) or tourists can travel to Moscow from St. Petersburg, Moskovsky railway station by train departing after 00:30 Monday (the next calendar day of the end of the tour).

A wonderful tour with a rich and engaging itinerary. Our guide, Svetlana, was very responsible and did an excellent job, explaining everything in detail. I was pleased with both the hotels and the food. Adding extra lunches was a great decision; it made everything more convenient, and I especially enjoyed the Pomor-style lunch at the Pomor restaurant. The transportation was also comfortable and reliable.
