The Kazachinsky threshold is one of the most beautiful places and one of the biggest natural problems of navigation on the Yenisei. Here the river boils and twists tight knots of whirlpools, showing its mighty Siberian character. The rapids include two rifts and two drains and are formed by rocky ledges and rocky ridges crossing the riverbed along its entire width. The width of the riverbed narrows almost twice here, and the total drop is almost 4 meters. The current here is very fast and can reach 20-22 km/h, so it is difficult for ships to pass through the threshold.

Kangovo is one of the tiny taiga villages scattered along the Yenisei. This place has one amazing feature: a sand spit washed by the Yenisei River near the village. In summer, Chum salmon, an indigenous small-numbered people of Siberia, set up their camp on this sandy island. The guests who visit them are invited to look into the artisans' shop, and then into the chum, sit by the fire and listen to stories about the life of the mysterious people - the Kets.

Turukhansk, formerly called the "Monastic village", stands on an arrow at the mouth of the Lower Tunguska River.

Most of the Turukhansky district is located beyond the Arctic circle, so winter frosts are strong here, up to -60 ° C, and in summer the thermometer reaches + 35 °C. Once these places were famous for furs – the skins of the rare silver fox were the "main currency" for the inhabitants.

To contemporaries, the Turukhansk region is better known as a place of exile for political prisoners. At one time, Marina Tsvetaeva's daughter Ariadna Efron, revolutionary and politician Yakov Sverdlov lived here in wooden barracks, and Joseph Dzhugashvili stayed on his way to his last exile in Kureika. Rails cutting through the silent taiga for hundreds of kilometers and going nowhere… The small village of Ermakovo is an unforgettable milestone in our history. You can take a walking trip to abandoned construction sites and camps.
