Demidov route. An abbreviated program

We will follow in the footsteps of the history of the mining glory of the Urals and the richest Russian dynasty of the Demidovs! We will find out what connects Nizhny Tagil with Italy, and the Urals with Napoleon, why the facade of the Cathedral of Florence is decorated with the Ural kailo and how the "falling" tower appeared!

This is the first national tourist route in the Sverdlovsk region!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Meeting in Yekaterinburg. Nevyansk. Tavolzhskaya ceramics

    08:15-08:30 Gathering of the group at the Four Elements Yekaterinburg hotel, Lenin Ave., 9a.

    Departure to Nevyansk.

    A travel tour with a visit to the monument "Europe-Asia".

    10:30-12:30 Visit to the Nevyanskaya Tower and the Nevyansky State Historical and Architectural Museum. Those who wish will be able to forge a commemorative Demidov coin or mine real Ural gemstones.

    13:00-13:40 Lunch at a cafe in the city.

    13:40-15:10 Visit to the Museum "House of the Nevyanskaya Icon". Acquaintance with the extraordinary cultural phenomenon of the Ural region – the Nevyansk school of icon painting.

    15:10 Departure to the village. Upper Meadowsweet. A travel tour with an overview of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Byngi village).

    16:00 Tour of Tavolozhskaya Ceramics LLC, a master class on a potter's wheel under the guidance of an experienced potter, a story about decorating ceramic products with traditional emerald glaze in the Demidov era.

    18:00 Kerzhak's dinner at the Crystal Cellar cafe.

    19:00 Departure to Nizhny Tagil.

    20:15 Arrival in Nizhny Tagil. Check-in at the Demidov Plaza 4* hotel. Free time.

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

For a comfortable and cloudless holiday, we recommend:

  • take comfortable hiking shoes, windproof clothes/raincoat in autumn; 
  • MHI policy;
  • funds for the purchase of souvenirs and sweets: our region is famous for cones in chocolate, "Sverdlovsk ginger", products made of Ural stones and minerals, and, of course, modern merch; 
  • when visiting an excursion to NTMK EVRAZ, you must have an identity document with you, for safety reasons it is forbidden to visit the workshop in shorts and skirts, necessarily in trousers / jeans and socks; those who wear lenses are recommended to change them for glasses after visiting the workshop due to possible dust and eye discomfort; in for personal safety, it is forbidden to visit the workshop for persons with a violation of the musculoskeletal system and central nervous system;
  • When visiting churches and temples, women need to have a headscarf on their head, and clothes should cover their shoulders and knees. Men are not allowed to visit churches and temples in shorts and tracksuits. The tour program includes a stop at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Byngi village);
  • check–in at hotels - according to passports, children need birth certificates (originals).
