This is the first national tourist route in the Sverdlovsk region!

We will follow in the footsteps of the history of the mining glory of the Urals and the richest Russian dynasty of the Demidovs! We will find out what connects Nizhny Tagil with Italy, and the Urals with Napoleon, why the facade of the Cathedral of Florence is decorated with the Ural kailo and how the "falling" tower appeared!

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Meeting in Yekaterinburg. Nevyansk.

    08:20 Gathering of the group at the Four Elements Yekaterinburg hotel, Lenin Ave., 9a.

    08:30 Departure to the city Nevyansk. 

    A travel tour with a visit to the Europe-Asia border and a stop at the obelisk on 17 km of the Moscow highway.

    Nevyansk is the city where the Demidov Empire began, founded on the initiative of Peter the Great as a place for an ironworks. 

    Later, the main facility of the city, the factory, was granted to the Demidov family. 

    Demidov factories began to appear all over the Urals and Siberia, and the city in the XVIII century became the main industrial point of the Urals!

    10:30-12:30 Sightseeing tour of the museum complex, directly at the foot of the Nevyanskaya inclined tower of the Demidovs (objects: Nevyanskaya inclined tower, monument to Demidov and Peter I) with a story about the history of the tower (construction, purpose, location, architectural features). 

    The uniqueness of the moment is the tower in the scaffolding – with a story about the history of the tower's restorations.

    Guided tour of the exposition: The history of the Nevyansky Region in the XVII – XVIII centuries: the history of the Nevyansky plant during the dynasty of the miners Nikita and Akinfiy Demidov, dating back to the first half of the XVIII century; the famous Demidov iron of the Old Sable brand; Tsar blast furnace; the role of the Nevyansky plant and the first Demidovs in the formation of mining Russia, the Russian Empire. 

    Virtual (with the help of a video panel and a prepared video sequence) tour of the tower: floor-by-floor appointment, patronage legends. 

    Those who wish will be able to forge a commemorative Demidov coin or get real Ural gemstones at the "mine" (in the warm season) (for an additional fee).

    13:00-13:40 Lunch at the cafe.

    13:40-15:10 Visit to the museum of the House of the Nevyanskaya Icon. 

    Acquaintance with the extraordinary cultural phenomenon of the Ural region – the Nevyansk school of icon painting.

    15:10 Departure to Verkhniye Tavolgi. 

    A travel tour with a tour of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Byngi village). 

    16:00 Tour of Tavolozhskaya Ceramics LLC, a master class on a potter's wheel under the guidance of an experienced potter, a story about decorating ceramic products with traditional emerald glaze in the Demidov era.

    18:00 Kerzhak's dinner at the Crystal Cellar cafe.

    19:00 Departure to Nizhny Tagil.

    20:15 Arrival in Nizhny Tagil. 

    Check-in at the Demidov Plaza 4* hotel.

  • when visiting an excursion to NTMK EVRAZ, have an identity document with you,
  • according to safety regulations, it is forbidden to visit the workshop in shorts and skirts, necessarily in trousers / jeans and socks; for those who wear lenses, we recommend changing them to glasses after visiting the workshop due to possible dust ingress and discomfort in the eyes; for personal safety, visiting the workshop is prohibited for persons with a violation of the musculoskeletal system and central nervous system.
  • When visiting churches and temples, women need to have a headscarf on their head, and clothes should cover their shoulders and knees. Men are not allowed to visit churches and temples in shorts and tracksuits. The tour program includes a stop at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker (Byngi village);
