Itinerary

Day 1 - The beginning of a sea voyage. Heading southwest
Departure from the port at 14:00.
We meet at the port of Vladivostok and take cabins on the Professor Khromov.
We sail southwest for the first two days.
The nearest destination is Bolshoy Pelis Island. Geographically, it is part of the Rimsky-Korsakov archipelago (named not after the famous composer, but after his older brother, a navigator who made a great contribution to the exploration of the Far Eastern coast).
Administratively— it belongs to the Far Eastern Marine Reserve, the only natural reserve in Russia, almost the entire area of which is the water area.
This does not mean that there is nothing to see on the shore!
And it's not just about the mesmerizing landscapes. Of the 5.5 thousand animals and plants of the reserve, more than half live, nest and grow on land.
The staff of the reserve will help us identify and evaluate the Red Book species.

Day 2 - Bolshoy Pelis Island. Gamov Lighthouse and Dangerous Bay
The Far Eastern Nature Reserve consists of four districts located at a distance from each other and having different conservation status.
Bolshoy Pelis Island belongs to the zone of complete conservation, and the Gamov Lighthouse is located in the southwestern corner of its buffer zone.
The cape of the same name was first discovered in the middle of the 19th century by the frigate Pallada, on board of which the great writer Ivan Goncharov made an expedition from Kronstadt to the Far East.
Built more than a century ago, Gamov Lighthouse is now listed as number one in the register of Russian lighthouses and is the southernmost in the country.
The rocky shores overgrown with pine trees are suitable for hiking enthusiasts: each point offers a new angle of view of the lighthouse, cape and the adjacent Dangerous Bay.
As yesterday, some of the group may prefer the pleasures of the wild beach and water sports to hiking.
Day 3 - Peter the Great Bay, Askold Island
We start moving east.
We cross the huge Peter the Great Bay and sail up to the horseshoe-shaped (to make sure, look at the map) island of Askold.
Like other islands of Primorsky Krai, Askold is famous for its green meadows, steep shores and endless blue sea. But there are also some special features.
There is a large population of spotted deer here — and we hope to meet one of these beauties.
There are two lighthouses on Cape Elagina not far from each other — the old one and the new one.
Until the middle of the 20th century, gold was mined on the island, which today resembles an abandoned mining village.
Moreover, the mists here are so thick and come so suddenly that during the period of tense relations with Japan, the local garrison set up a foggy post — an observation position that is located below the fog level and allows you to see the enemy from afar in any weather.
Day 4 - Petrov Island
Moving along the coast of Primorsky Krai, we arrive at Petrova Island.
The island is part of the huge Lazovsky Nature Reserve, created to protect the Ussuri forests (that is, those belonging to the vicinity of the Ussuri River, this word means the southern part of the Russian Far East) and their inhabitants.
The island is located some 700 meters from the coast, but due to its remoteness from civilization and the regulation of the tourist flow, only a few thousand people visit here per year.
The main attraction of the island is the relict yew grove.
It is so different from any other type of forest that guests of the reserve are invited to enter it with their eyes closed and, opening them, feel goosebumps running down their backs.
Other plants on the island include dimorphanthus, rhododendron, velvet, aralia, Korean pine, Manchurian birch and Mongolian oak.
In the mainland part of the reserve, a local guide will tell us about Amur tigers and show us their tracks.
Later in the evening, we will enjoy relaxing on a deserted beach, decorated with fabulous beauty with man-made art objects — stone remains.
Day 5 - Rudnaya Bay
The easternmost point of our route on the coast of Primorsky Krai is Vladimir Bay.
Approaching it, we will gasp at the sight of another outstanding natural landmark — Cape Four Rocks.
The bay itself is quite spacious: it consists of as many as three bays, there are small villages on the shore.
The rocky beaches here alternate with sandy ones, and near the water's edge you can find placers of large scallop shells.
Fans of snorkeling, kayaking, SUP-boarding and fishing can stay here, and we suggest everyone else to go up to the lighthouse at Cape Baluzek.
Not only is the lighthouse itself a wonder as picturesque, but the hospitable caretaker will also tell you about his work and life in the space between the sea and the sky.

Day 6 - Moneron Island
We make the largest crossing of our expedition (about 250 nautical miles) and arrive at Moneron Island.
Its entire territory is given over to a natural park, where there is a place for emerald meadows and high rocky shores, waterfalls and caves.
And Moneron will beat any world dive site in terms of water transparency: just perched on a steep bank, you can observe what is happening at a depth of 30-40 meters.
If you love snorkeling, you will never forget diving on Moneron.
Those who prefer cultural tourism can also plunge into the island's history: there is an ancient Japanese telegraph station and a mysterious "bridge from nowhere to nowhere."
A bright spot at the end of the day and the journey as a whole will be provided by boat trips on the Zodiac to noisy bird markets and seal rookeries.
Day 7 - Completion of the sea voyage
We will arrange a transfer from the port of Korsakov to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and say a warm goodbye.

Required equipment:

high-top trekking boots and winter boots. This is the main protection of your feet from injury when traveling over rough terrain, climbing mountains on rocky slopes and steep descents. Properly chosen shoes are the key to comfort on the route. It is best to take discarded shoes on the tour, otherwise we strongly recommend that you stock up on a Band-Aid.
warm winter jacket with a membrane (for northern cruises).
an additional comfortable pair of shoes (sneakers, boots). In the evening, after an active day, your feet should rest, and your trekking shoes should dry.
waterproof trousers and a membrane jacket. In the absence of such, in addition to outerwear, be sure to take a waterproof raincoat ("raincoat").
for the duration of the active part of the tour, exclude denim, it dries for a long time and is impractical.
A sweatshirt (fleece, Polartec, a sweater is possible). When choosing a jacket, it is important to take into account the thermal qualities, as well as the properties of drying quickly.

Alcohol. Alcohol consumption is prohibited during the active part of the route (disembarkation, excursions).

If a participant is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the organizers have the right to refuse the tourist to participate in the program.

Alcohol is not in the diet. If you need alcohol, it can be purchased at the ship's bar.

Smoking. Smoking is prohibited in the premises and public areas of the ship. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. On the route, smoking is allowed only at a distance from the main group, without causing inconvenience to the rest of the group. On most landings and excursions, the routes take place in the protected area of the reserve, so it is forbidden to throw away cigarette butts. If you smoke during the day, take care of a pocket ashtray in advance. Serious fines are provided for clogging the nature protection area.
