The program begins with an exciting trip from Yakutsk to Khandyga and continues through Tomtor, Oymyakon, Ust-Nera, Susuman to Magadan. Every day you will discover new horizons, starting with a visit to the GULAG History Museum and ending with fascinating views of the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Yakutsk – Cherkekh – Khandyga
Travel to Khandygi (±435 km).
Departure from the hotel at 09:00.
Transfer by transport ferry across the Lena River from Darkylakh to Nizhny Bestyakh (15 km).
Purchase of snacks/drinks in Nizhny Bestyakh (at your own expense).
Travel to the Aldan River with stops along the route, including to visit the historical and architectural museum complex under the open sky in the village of Cherkekh and for lunch at a roadside cafe (payment on the spot).
In the evening at sunset – crossing the Aldan River.
Arrival in the village of Khandygu.
Time for dinner at the cafe (not included).
Rest.
Day 2 - Khandyga – Teply klyuch – Tomtor
Travel to Tomtor ( ±475 km).
Departure from the overnight stay at 08:00.
Time for breakfast at a cafe-restaurant in Khandyg.
Travel to the village of Teply Klyuch (70 km).
Visit to the Gulag History Museum.
Travel to Tomtor through the mountain ranges of the Sette-Daban, Rocky and Suntar-Khayata ranges and through the Oymyakon highlands with stops at the passes, the border of the Tompon and Oymyakon districts, at a roadside cafe in Kyubum.
On the old Kolyma highway, including fording through mountain rivers, over bridges built by GULAG prisoners, inspection of old road signs, etc.
Arrival in Tomsk in the evening.

Day 3 - Tomtor – Oymyakon – Ust-Nera
In the morning, visit the tunnel "Residence of Chyskhaan, Keeper of the Cold" (Chyskhaan is a Yakut fairy—tale character) with ice figures and giant crystals on the walls and ceiling.
Travel to Oymyakon (±45 km) if the Indigirka River does not overflow its banks.
Visit to the Oymyakon – Pole of Cold stele in Oymyakon.
Travel to Ust-Nera (435 km) with a stop for dinner at the Kuba cafe in Kyubum (not included) and at the top of the Olchansky pass.
Arrival in Ust-Nera late in the evening/ at night.
Time for dinner at the cafe (payment on the spot).
Rest.

Day 4 - Ust-Nera – Kadykchan – Susuman
Travel to Susuman (390 km).
It's time for breakfast at the cafe.
Travel to Susuman with stops at the weather station on the border of Yakutia and the Magadan region, Ozernoye village, with a stop in the ghost town of Kadykchan miners.
Arrival in Susuman in the evening.
Time for dinner at the cafe-bar (payment on the spot).
Rest.
Day 5 - Susuman – Yagodnoye – Palatka – Magadan
In the morning, it's time for breakfast at the cafe-bar.
An inspection of Susuman, including the famous installation of the nose of the aircraft as an extension to the building of a young technician.
On this day, travel to Magadan is possible according to one of two options:
Option number 1. Along the main Kolyma highway (630 km) through the Burkhala pass, the village of Yagodnoye (with a visit to the private museum "History of Kolyma"), the village of Debin with a single bridge over the Kolyma River, and with a stop for lunch at a cafe in Lazurny.
Option #2. Along the Tenkinskaya road (600 km) with picturesque mountain serpentines, through Ust-Omchug.
In both cases, we check into Palatka, the largest fountain city in Russia.
Arrival in Magadan late in the evening.
Time for dinner at the restaurant (payment on the spot).

Day 6 - Magadan and the bays of the Sea of Okhotsk
Full day in Magadan.
A trip to the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk towards the village of Ola.
It's time for lunch at the cafe.
Sightseeing tour of Magadan (by car) with a visit to the Mammoth monument, Nagaev Bay, Gertner Bay, the "Mask of Sorrow" and the Fish Market.
Time for dinner at the restaurant (payment on the spot).
Rest.
Day 7 - Departure from Magadan
09:00 Check-out from the hotel.
10:00 Visit to the city market, shopping, souvenirs.
11:30 Group transfer to Sokol airport (about 50 km).

Before leaving for the tour, evaluate whether you can stay in the car for a long time (from 08:00 to ± 21:00) and whether there are any contraindications from doctors (back, knees). Some people have severe shoulder pain due to micro-vibrations.

It's important to know

windproof jackets, warm sweaters/sweaters/blankets (for staying on the river);
closed trousers (for being on rivers and open country);
comfortable shoes with non-slip soles;
anti-mosquito products (valid in June and July);
a SIM card from the mobile operator MTS/Beeline/Megafon for calls and Internet access (EDGE/3G) from populated areas. Tele2 and Internet service providers do not operate in Yakutia;
headgear (in case of hot days, rain, etc.);
a headdress with a mosquito net (for a long stay in the forest) (not relevant at the end of August and September);
head lamp (optional on dark nights, just in case) (white nights in June and early July);
fleece sweater;
down jacket-stogrammovka (damp, in the evenings / nights by the river it can be +5,+6 C);
a waterproof jacket with a hood or a raincoat (in case of rain or when traveling along rivers — splashing may get wet in strong winds);
waterproof trousers;
trekking sneakers / boots (in other words, comfortable shoes so as not to slip or stumble on the stone shore/surface and wooden stairs);

In short, the organization of the tour was impeccable at every stage - from the airport transfers to the journey to Oymyakon and back, including every stop along the way!
