Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Departure from Yaroslavl. Krasny Profintern — Vyatskoye — Svyato-Vvedensky Tolga Monastery

    11:05 Meeting at Yaroslavl-Glavny railway station in Yaroslavl at the monument to Savva Mamontov.

    11:15 Transfer to Krasny Profintern settlement.

    Lugovoi tract: following in the footsteps of Nekrasov, merchants and legends.

    Lugovoy Tract is an ancient road that Minin and Pozharsky, young Mikhail Romanov and Fyodor Dostoevsky walked along. Nekrasov and Ostrovsky mentioned it, and somewhere here, according to legend, Grandfather Mazai saved the hares. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient villages, merchant castles and lively Russian poetry.

    The castle of the "starch-treacle kings" — merchants Ponizovkins.

    The real decoration of the Meadow tract is the Castle of the Ponizovkin merchants in the village. The Red Profintern. A luxurious mansion in the Art Nouveau and neo—Gothic style is a symbol of former greatness. There was a lot of life here: factories, a "sweet" railway and even a racing car among the village huts. Find out what secrets this mysterious castle holds.

    Transfer to S. Vyatka.

    Lunch at the Vyatsky Museum restaurant.

    Vyatskoye village, "the most beautiful village" in Russia, is a unique phenomenon in the vast expanses of our Homeland and the undisputed tourist "brand" of the Yaroslavl region. History comes alive in every home:

    • 50 architectural monuments;
    • famous fairs and legendary "Vyatka" cucumbers;
    • own source of healing mineral water.

    In the program:

    • the museum of kitchen machinery — an introduction to the collection from the first mixers to washing machines of the 19th century;
    • "Rooms of the Urlov merchants" is a step into the past: hotels and everyday life of the golden era of merchants.

    Transfer to Yaroslavl.

    Visit to the women's Holy Vvedensky Tolga Monastery, founded at the beginning of the 14th century on the site of the miraculous icon of the Tolga Mother of God.

    The monastery is famous for its beauty, majestic temples of the XVI-XVII centuries, amazingly beautiful views of the Volga, a sacred cedar grove, and a large female monastic community.

    Accommodation at the hotel.

    Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

    Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.

    I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot more about my country and its history, and visited many historic cities and monasteries. It’s an experience I will remember for a long time. Everything along the route was well organized. Special thanks to our guide, Zhanna, who accompanied us throughout the trip!! She made everything so engaging and interesting. Wishing her all the best.
