Let's get acquainted with the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, an amazing place with a centuries–old history, the architectural ensemble of which is protected by UNESCO.

Wonders of Yaroslavl

Day 1 - Moscow City Tour
Independent arrival of tourists at the beginning of the tour at the Kosmos Hotel, 150 Mira Ave., Moscow.
Tickets are not included in the price of the tour. You can get there by any convenient transport.

Day 2 - Continuing to explore Moscow: VDNKH

Walking tour of VDNKH.
VDNKh is a large exhibition and museum complex, a city within a city, where 49 cultural heritage monuments have been preserved. VDNKH is 325 hectares with historical pavilions, arches, museums, parks and alleys, fountains and sculptures.
Each pavilion is a separate chapter in the history of the country, captured in monumental facades, elegant bas—reliefs and amazing sculptures.
The program includes an introduction to the history of VDNH and the legends associated with this wonderful place, and an inspection of the symbols of VDNH and Moscow:
The arch of the Main Entrance with a monument to a tractor driver and a collective farmer has been a symbol of the Exhibition for many years.;
alleys surrounded by greenery leading to the Friendship of Peoples and Stone Flower fountains, masterpieces of fountain art that captivate with their beauty and symbolism;
ceremonial pavilions of the republics and regions of the USSR.

Day 3 - Trinity Sergius Lavra, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov the Great

The Trinity-Sergius Lavra is the pearl of Russia's Orthodox shrines with a centuries—old history. The architectural ensemble of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra is under UNESCO protection.
The tour program includes:
Trinity Cathedral (external inspection) is the main cathedral church and the oldest surviving structure of the Trinity Monastery, the first stone building of the Lavra. The main shrine of the cathedral is the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The Assumption Cathedral (interior) is the architectural center of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
Refectory and Dukhovskoy temples (interior).

Departure to Pereslavl-Zalessky.
Sightseeing tour of Pereslavl-Zalessky, one of the cities of the famous Golden Ring route. Pereslavl-Zalessky stands on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyev and is famous for its picturesque landscapes, architectural masterpieces, and surprisingly rich history.
Russian Russians consider this city to be the birthplace of Alexander Nevsky, the cradle of the Russian navy, and it occupies a large place in Russian history.
The heart of Pereslavl is Red Square, which is several centuries older than the famous Moscow namesake.
A living confirmation of local antiquity is the Transfiguration Cathedral (external inspection), founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152. This is the oldest building in Northeastern Russia that has survived to the present day.

Day 4 - Yaroslavl and Kostroma

the arrow of the Volga and Kotorosli rivers, the place where Yaroslavl began;
the picturesque Volga embankment and the Assumption Cathedral, recreated for the 1000th anniversary of the city;
a unique architectural ensemble of the central part of Yaroslavl (under UNESCO protection) and its pearls – churches of the 17th century (one of which is the Church of Elijah the Prophet);
an introduction to the history of the first Russian theater;
driving through the streets where the heroes of famous Soviet and Russian films walked.
Visit to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.
An excursion through the territory (an inspection of the architectural ensemble) of the main city landmark with impregnable stone walls, which is sometimes popularly called the "Yaroslavl Kremlin".
It was here in the XVIII century that the list of the masterpiece of ancient Russian literature "The Word about Igor's Regiment" was discovered.
We recommend visiting (if possible, on your own, for an additional fee on site): expositions of the Yaroslavl Museum-Reserve: "The Word about Igor's regiment", "Treasures of Yaroslavl", "Church of Elijah the Prophet".
Departure to Kostroma.

Visit to the famous Ipatievsky Monastery, the main symbol of Kostroma (inspection of the architectural ensemble).
Within its walls, Mikhail Romanov was blessed with the kingdom. Since then, the monastery has been rightfully considered the "Cradle of the Romanov dynasty." Members of the imperial family revered the monastery as their family shrine. At various times, the monastery was visited by Catherine II, Nicholas I, Alexander II and Nicholas II.
Sightseeing bus and walking tour of Kostroma, the most beautiful city on the Volga, one of the pearls of the Golden Ring. The ancient merchant city, which has preserved to this day the original appearance of the architectural ensemble of the XVIII century, will lift the veil of mystery of its unique history.

Fire tower of the 19th century, an outstanding monument of classicism;
The guardhouse building;
a beautifully preserved ensemble of Shopping malls, which are still in service.;
wide Volga River embankment;
the recreated Kostroma Kremlin, where the miraculous icon of the Fedorovskaya Mother of God is kept in the Epiphany Cathedral. It was written around 1239 and is famous for its great miracles and healings. This is the oldest work of Kostroma icon painting. The icon has long been revered as the defender of the city and the guardian of the Romanov family.

Sightseeing tour of Ivanovo, which is famous for its textile traditions, architectural monuments and the unique spirit of an exemplary socialist city, a paradise for lovers of "constructivism".
In the program:
the railway station in the "constructivism" style of 1933, one of the symbols of Ivanovo;
Revolution Square — the central square of the city;
monument to Yakov Petrovich Garelin, one of the founding fathers of the city, manufacturer and philanthropist;
the buildings of Soviet constructivism, after Moscow and St. Petersburg in Ivanovo, there are the most in Russia.;
Shchudrov tent, the oldest stone building in Ivanovo, 17th century.
Departure to Suzdal.
The creator of the Golden Ring route, Yuri Bychkov, while in Suzdal, called it "Sweet Museum. The city is unique" and noted with surprise that there are a lot of people here, and the city is very popular. Suzdal still attracts many tourists, and is rightfully considered by many to be a favorite city on the famous Golden Ring route.

The main attraction of Suzdal is the Suzdal Kremlin (an external inspection of the architectural ensemble). According to archaeologists, the Kremlin in Suzdal was built in the 10th century, despite this, its main buildings have been preserved to this day.
The Pokrovsky Monastery (from the observation deck) is a women's monastery that holds many secrets. In the 16th century, it served as a place of exile for disgraced tsars and women of noble boyar families.
Spaso-Evfimiev Monastery (external inspection of the architectural ensemble) with a visit to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral and the famous bell tolls. Russian grave of Prince Dmitry Mikhailovich Pozharsky, an outstanding Russian commander, is located in the monastery.
Museum of Wooden Architecture (sightseeing tour of the territory) with unique buildings of the 17th and 19th centuries. The museum is built in the form of a rural street with temples, apartment buildings, mills, barns and other buildings transported from different villages and villages of the Vladimir region.

The Shchurovo Gorodishche Museum is a unique place where you can feel like a resident of Ancient Russia. One of the proofs of the beauty and authenticity of the museum is the fact that Pavel Lungin's film "The Tsar" was shot here: the way of life and architecture of that time are so reliably conveyed.
"Neskuchny Museum" with a theatrical program "Tavern stories". The theatrical tour gives you the opportunity to travel back to Suzdal in the 19th century and imagine yourself as a visitor to an original Russian tavern.

An introduction to the history of the village of Kideksha.
Inspection of the Boris and Gleb Church (external inspection), founded at the behest of the Suzdal Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152.
According to legend, it was here in 1015 that Princes Boris of Rostov and Gleb of Murom, later the first Russian saints, met on their way to Kiev. The church is one of the earliest white stone buildings in Russia.

Day 7 - Bogolyubovo and Vladimir

Departure to Bogolyubovo village.
Bogolyubovo village was once an ancient Russian city founded in 1158 as the residence of Prince Andrey Bogolyubsky of Vladimir. Today, one of the oldest Russian monasteries, Bogolyubsky Monastery, is located on its territory (external inspection of the architectural ensemble).
The sights of Bogolyubovo village are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The structures were often rebuilt, but the earthen ramparts, moats and lower parts of the walls were partially preserved, as well as part of the legendary residence — the famous white stone tower with a spiral staircase.
A walk along Bogolyubsky Meadow to the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl, a monument of white stone architecture of the XII century (external inspection). The church was located practically on the river "strelka", forming the crossroads of the most important waterways.
According to the chronicle, the construction under Prince Andrew was carried out by "craftsmen from all lands." The unique "swan temple" has miraculously survived to this day.
Please note: the walk will take place under favorable weather and natural conditions. Please bring comfortable shoes.
Departure to Vladimir.
Guided tour of Vladimir, the ancient capital of Northeastern Russia.
Sightseeing of the XII century:
The Golden Gate (external inspection, under restoration) is a symbol of the greatness and power of Ancient Russia.
Dmitrievsky Cathedral (external inspection) is a monument of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture of the pre-Mongol period.
Assumption Cathedral (visit) is a masterpiece of white stone architecture. It is a unique treasure trove of Russian church art. It preserves paintings of the XII-XIX centuries, the pearl is the famous frescoes of the icon painter Andrei Rublev.
We recommend visiting (if possible, on your own, for an additional fee on site): The Old Pharmacy Museum, the Museum of Crystal and Glass of the XVIII-XXI centuries.
