Guided tour of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
The Trinity-Sergius Lavra is the pearl of Russia's Orthodox shrines with a centuries—old history. The architectural ensemble of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra is under UNESCO protection.
Trinity Cathedral (external inspection) is the main cathedral church and the oldest surviving structure of the Trinity Monastery, the first stone building of the Lavra. The main shrine of the cathedral is the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The Assumption Cathedral (interior) is the architectural center of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.
Refectory and Dukhovskoy temples (interior).

Today, a small regional center of the Vladimir region, Alexandrov was the unofficial capital of the Russian empire in the 16th century! It was also the unofficial capital of the 101st kilometer in the 20th century. The story of Alexandrov and its inhabitants can surprise!
Visit to the Alexander Kremlin (Alexandrovskaya Sloboda), the residence of the first Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible.

Day 2 - Uglich — Myshkin

Departure to Uglich.
Uglich is one of the oldest cities in Russia, famous for its beautiful examples of Russian architecture and unique monuments of nature and architecture.
Sightseeing tour of Uglich — the beauty of the nature of the Volga region and the grandeur of ancient sights.
Guided tour of the territory of the Uglich Kremlin, the historical and urban core of the city:
Tsarevich Dimitri's chambers ("chambers of the Uglich appanage princes") is the only building preserved from the foundation of the Kremlin (XV century).;
the Church of Dmitry on the Blood, built on the site of the death of Tsarevich Dmitry. Inside are murals by artists of the late 18th century describing this event in detail;
The Transfiguration Cathedral is the cathedral of the city of Uglich.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
Departure to Myshkin.
Myshkin is the smallest city in the Yaroslavl region, ancient, sincere, original, which has preserved the ancient merchant buildings and a special provincial charm. The city was famous for its blacksmiths and potters.
Myshkin owes his origin to a mouse that woke up the sleeping prince at the moment when he was about to be bitten by a snake. According to Russian tradition, the prince built a chapel for the glory of his salvation, around which the city grew.

Day 3 - Uglich — Borisoglebsky

"Museum of the History of Russian vodka". The museum's exhibition stands are filled with all kinds of Russian alcoholic beverages from different cities of the country. Uglich is the birthplace of the vodka king, Pyotr Arsenyevich Smirnov.

Day 4 - Rostov Veliky — Yaroslavl

Kostroma is an ancient merchant city that has preserved to this day the original appearance of the architectural ensemble of the XVIII century, will lift the veil of mystery of its unique history and introduce you to the unique objects of the exhibition.:
fire tower of the 19th century, an outstanding monument of classicism;
The guardhouse building;
a beautifully preserved ensemble of Shopping malls, which are still in service.;
wide Volga River embankment;
An inspection of the territory of the recreated Kostroma Kremlin, where the miraculous icon of the Fedorovskaya Mother of God is kept in the Epiphany Cathedral.
It was written around 1239 and is famous for its great miracles and healings. This is the oldest work of Kostroma icon painting. The icon has long been revered as the defender of the city and the guardian of the Romanov family.
Visit to the famous Ipatievsky Monastery, the main symbol of Kostroma (inspection of the architectural ensemble).
Within the walls of this monastery, Mikhail Romanov was blessed with the kingdom. Since then, the monastery has been rightfully considered the "Cradle of the Romanov dynasty."
Members of the imperial family revered the monastery as their family shrine. At various times, the monastery was visited by Catherine II, Nicholas I, Alexander II and Nicholas II.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.
