A wonderful first expedition experience for those who already know what a snowmobile is, but have never set off on a real northern trip on it.

We are waiting for observations of the Aurora borealis, communication with reindeer, dog sledding, visiting the sacred lake Seydozero, a sauna with swimming in the snow, national Sami cuisine. A great vacation with family or friends! Accommodation in a comfortable house with all amenities on the shore of Lake Lovozero with a beautiful view of the Lovozero tundra.

Additional dates are possible for groups of 5 or more people by agreement.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival. Kirovsk — Umbozersky pass, Lake Umbozero, Lake Lovozero
Meeting guests in Apatity at 08:20 at the railway station, transfer to Kirovsk.
09:00 Breakfast at the cafe.
Equipment, instruction on driving snowmobiles.
Departure along the route: Kirovsk — Umbozersky pass, Lake Umbozero, Lake Lovozero.
The daily route is about 130 km.
On this day, participants will have to overcome the passes of the Khibiny mountain range, drive through a fabulous forest and systems of frozen lakes.
No traces of civilization along the way.
Accommodation at the Yulinskaya Salma guest house.
Supper.

Day 2 - Lake Seydozero. Dog sledding, reindeer sledding
Breakfast, snowmobile trip to Lake Seydozero.
A circular route on the ice, an inspection of the Kuiva rock.
Lunch at the Yulinskaya Salma guest house.
In the afternoon, a trip to the Lovozero village area.
Dog sledding, reindeer sledding, tea in the plague with the most interesting stories about the life of the Sami from Anna Sorvanova-Terentyeva.
Getting to know wonderful deer that you can touch, pet, and feed.
Return to the guest house, wood-burning sauna with swimming in the snow, dinner.
The Yulinskaya Salma Guest House is one of the best locations on the Kola Peninsula for those who dream of seeing the northern Lights.
Day trip on snowmobiles 80 km.

Day 3 - Mount Mannelah and the Partomchorr pass. Departure
Breakfast, start in the direction of Khibiny.
The route back to Kirovsk differs from the route of the first day.
If possible, we will climb one of the highest points of the Lovozero tundra — Mount Mannepakh (950m) with a magnificent view of Umbozero and Khibiny, and in Khibiny we will pass through the Partomchorrsky pass.
The daily route is about 140 km.
Return to Kirovsk, dinner at a cafe, departure.
Interesting things on the route: the sacred mountain lake Seydozero, snowmobiling, acquaintance with the life of the indigenous population of the Kola Peninsula, acquaintance with sled dogs and reindeer, a wood-burning sauna, the endless expanses of the Russian North.
Opportunity to see: wild animals such as: lemmings, partridges, grouse, foxes, hares, deer, moose, northern lights, reindeer, husky dogs.
The departure of the participants is approximately at 20:00.
Train 15 leaves Apatit at 23:20. We recommend buying plane tickets for the time after 01:00 am the next day.

The guest house is located on a promontory opposite Lake Seydozero. A beautiful place with a wonderful view. A cozy house with all amenities, democratic atmosphere, home cooking, friendly staff, good sauna. Accommodation for 2-3 people in rooms.

It's important to know

T-shirts, underwear, cotton socks;
thermal underwear made of thin polartek;
sweatpants made of thick polartek (fleece), a sweatshirt made of thick fleece, preferably with a "throat" or a sweatshirt or a thick sweater;
a down sweater (thin single-layer down jacket) under a jumpsuit or a normal down jacket on top of a jumpsuit in case of severe cold weather. You can use a ski jacket or a jumpsuit;
sweatpants for staying in guest houses;
thick wool socks 2 pairs, one pair of thermal socks, also thick;
ski gloves + fleece gloves;
ski cap, if there is – your balaclava, if not – we provide;
the scarf is warm, if there is a windproof mask on the face. The balaclavas provided by the organizers cover the face well from the cold, but we recommend having additional protection;
downy climbing slippers (highly recommended), rubber slippers for the bath, a personal bath towel (almost everywhere in guest houses they provide, but it is advisable to have your own;
if you know that your lower back is stiffening, then take with you something warming like a scarf, shawl;
personal hygiene kit (brush, paste, etc.);
cold face cream;
personal first aid kit (if there is a need for special medicines);
ski mask - worn on top of the helmet (the combination of helmet and ski mask is most optimal for long-distance snowmobile trips);
sunglasses;
a small (up to 30 liters) shoulder backpack helps to keep your back warm, in addition, you can put small items you need on the road in it;
some participants of our tours recommend taking their own small thermoses for tea, it happens that someone does not have enough to drink on the route;
sweets, nuts, and sweets are also often not superfluous.

Items must be packed in a bag or backpack, or in a trunk with a volume of no more than 60 liters. Suitcases are prohibited.

Equipment provided:

a jumpsuit made of thick fabric with a single-layer sintepon lining;
2 balaclavas – thin and thick;
helmet with a double-glazed visor - if you have a large head, focus our attention on this;
snowmobile boots with felt liner;
mittens with fur of the "fur coat" type in case of very severe cold weather.
