Teriberka. Whales in the Barents Sea

We invite you to an unforgettable trip along the coast of the Barents Sea, to the picturesque village of Teriberka, where whales are frequent visitors.

The main feature of this tour is a long boat trip. During the warmer months, you will have the opportunity to spend several hours at sea, which significantly increases the chance of encountering whales.

In addition to the boat trip, you will enjoy exciting excursions, hiking in the natural park, Dragon Beach and waterfall on the seashore, as well as a tour of old Teriberka, hand-feeding reindeer and sea fishing. You will see a graveyard of ships, a whale skeleton on the beach, and if you go on a tour from mid-August to November, you will have great chances to see not only whales, but also the northern Lights.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Murmansk — Teriberka

For more information about the time and place of the meeting, see the "Important to know" section. Transfer to Teriberka 2.5–3 hours.

Upon arrival, we will check into a hotel on the shores of the Barents Sea, have lunch and go on our first acquaintance with Teriberka!

Today or another day we will definitely arrange a seafood tasting — scallop, sea urchin and modiolus. If desired, the scallop and the hedgehog can be cut up on their own, or you can just eat it.

So, we begin to enjoy the nature of the incredible North — let's go on a simple hike along the seashore and tundra.

We will go ashore, walk along the granite cliffs honed by the sea to the old weather station and find ourselves on Dragon Beach, we will reach the Small Battery Lake, the water from which pours into the Barents Sea, forming a waterfall.

The length of the trail is up to 6-10 km, the hike takes from 3 hours.

Depending on the weather and if you have time, you can manage to reach the fortifications of the Great Patriotic War — the trenches built of stones and artillery batteries have been preserved.

Our guides always have a few secret places of interest in stock.

You can have dinner at the Mall or at any other restaurant in Teriberka. In local restaurants, you can try fresh fish and seafood (cod/halibut steak, scallops, hedgehogs, mussels, and crab).
