Krasnoshchelye has become home to two northern peoples of the Kola Peninsula — the Sami and Komi. By the will of fate, they found themselves in close contact with each other and in relative isolation from other northern nationalities. As a result, there were noticeable differences in their national costume, traditions and folklore.

You can plunge into the festive atmosphere, see the revived customs of the northern peoples of the Kola Peninsula, and taste traditional dishes after completing the 140 km winter route.

Traveling through the snowy expanses of the Arctic is an exciting adventure in itself, especially when the warmth of the hearth and a warm welcome await at the end of the journey.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting and transfer to Krasnoshchelye via Lovozero village
Morning arrival by train at Olenegorsk railway station (no later than 13:30) or Murmansk Airport (no later than 11:00).
Meeting and transfer to the village of Lovozero, where you will be offered a lunch of national cuisine.
After lunch, a brief briefing, packing of luggage (hand luggage) and departure to the route in a double covered sleigh behind a snowmobile.
On the lakes behind the village of Lovozero, we will stop near the Komi family plague.
The hospitable hosts will offer fragrant tundra tea and introduce you to fluffy reindeer.
Departure from Lovozero village no later than 15:00. There will be rest stops and photo/video filming along the way.
The route passes through forests and tundra, through frozen lakes and swamps.
Upon arrival in Krasnoshchelye, check into a guest house.
A dinner of traditional northern dishes is served in a retro hut near the guest house.
The distance from Lovozero to Krasnoshchelye is 140 km.
Day 2 - Vazhya Olom Museum, national competitions, sauna
Breakfast.
After breakfast, a tour of the surroundings of the village with a visit to the local history corner of Krasnoshchelskaya secondary school, the village library and the Vazhya Olom Museum.
Lunch at 14:00 with national northern dishes.
After lunch, prepare for the sauna.
Those who wish can take part in the preparation of firewood for kindling stoves and the delivery of river water from the ice hole by sledge behind a snowmobile.
While the sauna is being heated, we will hold national competitions — lasso throwing, sled jumping.
Photographing in the plague in national clothes with tea from a samovar on coals.
A sauna with birch and juniper brooms and lingonberry juice, followed by a fish dinner — dishes exclusively from the fish of the famous Ponaya River.
After dinner, do not forget to walk around the village, looking at the sky, so as not to miss the Northern Lights show.

Day 3 - Ice fishing, gatherings "The night before Christmas"
09:00 breakfast, departure in an open sleigh for snowmobiles to the vast expanses of the North — to lakes, ice fishing.
We'll make a hot campfire on the shore and melt a samovar with coals.
Fishing, lunch by the campfire according to the tradition of local fishermen with their stories and tales.
Upon return, there will be a heated sauna and evening pancake parties "The Night before Christmas."
Day 4 - Krasnoshchel tour, ethnocultural center, candlelit Christmas dinner
Breakfast.
On this day, we will have a tour of the village with a visit to the Orthodox church of St. Seraphim of Sarov, where we will have the opportunity to light a candle and explore the surroundings of the polar remote village by climbing the bell tower.

Free time for a walk through the forest on hunting skis.
After a winter walk, we will have a peasant lunch and free time for an afternoon rest.
Then we go to the ethnocultural center, where local craftsmen in bright folk costumes with songs, jokes and jokes launched an exhibition and sale of "Kuzhan Ki": various knitting, soft toys, local pickles and jams.
Upon return, at 20:00, a candlelit Christmas dinner.
Day 5 - Departure
At 08:30 breakfast, packing, the legendary tying of ribbons and departure back to the village of Lovozero.
15:00 return from Krasnoshchelye to Lovozero.
Those who wish can visit the museum of local lore and a specialty store where you can buy smoked venison.
Before 16:30 changing clothes, lunch at the cafe "Mikhail's".
Visit to the souvenir shop until 17:00-17:30 (if desired).
Return to Murmansk or Murmansk airport at 20:00. If you do not visit the souvenir shop, you can get to the airport at 19:00.
If the northern Lights flash on the way, then stop for a photo shoot.
We recommend returning to Murmansk, spending the night and leaving the next morning, as there may be delays due to weather conditions.

The tour provides accommodation for 4 nights in a guest house in the village of Krasnoshchelye. 2-, 3- and 4-bed accommodation is possible.

The cost of the tour is 105,000 rubles/person.

Discount for a child under 9 years old (inclusive) — 23,000 rubles/person.

3 bedrooms and a living room with wood-burning stoves.

One of the rooms has 2 wide beds and one 2-tier, heated washbasin. The other two rooms have two 2–tier beds and a washbasin.

A rustic toilet on the street (there is a night room in the house), a sauna on the territory of the house. The heating is stove-based.

Electricity is 220 watts, from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. During the holidays, the electricity is not turned off at night.

Mobile communication is only "MegaFon". There is no Internet connection.

Outdoor toilet, washbasin with warm water in the house.

Bath 2-3 times.

All rooms are carefully and lovingly equipped, the houses are clean and cozy.

It's important to know

You can take a bag weighing no more than 15 kg with you.

Do not take food with you — they feed you "for slaughter" in Krasnoshchelye.

A reasonable amount of alcohol is welcome.

The optimal set of clothes:

thermal underwear;
warm pants;
sweater, down jacket;
a warm hat;
windproof mask;
ski goggles;
warm thick mittens;
boots or boots.

It is recommended to take 3-4 pairs of self-heating insoles and inserts in mittens.

In case of frosty weather, take a greasy cream with you. It can be useful for fishing.
