The radiance of the North. New Year on the Kola Peninsula

New Year is a time of miracles and amazing adventures, we suggest not to waste it and go with us through the endless valleys of the snow—white tundra, towards the Northern Aurora.

We will visit the most remote places of the Kola Peninsula: we will visit the Edge of the world in Teriberka, walk along the ocean coast, learn about the mystery of the appearance of the stone beach. We will get acquainted with the capital of the Arctic and walk through the most famous places of the city, see the first nuclear-powered vessel, the legendary icebreaker Lenin.

And one day we will stay with the Sami (the indigenous people of the North), learn their legends and tales, make a wish at the Moon Callsa and ride with the breeze in a reindeer sled.

The most fabulous and amazing thing awaits you on this tour — hunting for the Northern Lights, a unique natural phenomenon that excites the mind and takes your breath away.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Murmansk. A tour of the capital of the Arctic and a hunt for the northern lights

You arrive in the hero city of Murmansk by air or railway transport on your own.

We recommend arrival before 13:00 so that you have time to get to the hotel and check in.

The meeting time of the group is 14:30 at the address: Five Corners square, 5/23 Vorovsky St., Meridian Hotel lobby.

Murmansk is the capital of the Arctic, the largest city beyond the Arctic Circle, a hero city, we invite you to get to know it better!

You will learn the origin of the name, get acquainted with the significant architectural sights of Murmansk.

The first point of the tour will be the Marine Station and the first ship on the planet with a nuclear installation, the nuclear icebreaker Lenin.

Sad pages of history, we will go to the Memorial "To the Sailors who died in peacetime": a tower stylized as a lighthouse, a ship's anchor and part of the cabin raised from the Kursk submarine, the Church of the Savior on Waters.

Looking into the distance, you will definitely notice the snow-white figure of a soldier, more than 35 meters high, the next point of the tour will be the Green Cape Hill and the memorial to the "Defenders of the Soviet Arctic", popularly called "Alyosha".

Not far from the defender of the Arctic, the "Waiting" stands and waits for its sailor, a touching and elegant monument, a collective image of all women who wait for the return of husbands, sons and fathers every minute of their lives.

After the tour, you will have free time to relax, check into the hotel and have dinner at the restaurant, buy souvenirs.

21:00 An evening trip to hunt for the northern lights, we will hunt for miracles. Photography is included in the price of the tour.

Please do not be late and always stay in touch, as the northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, the departure time may change.

If we don't see the northern lights, don't worry, we'll have another try the next day!

This amazing natural phenomenon does not leave indifferent even those who, it would seem, are accustomed to the wonderful iridescences of color in the night sky.

What can we say about those who saw it for the first time!

You will not be able to watch the flashes burning in the sky in the city, all the beauty is revealed far from the city lights, in the expanses of northern nature.

Hunting can take from 2 to 5 hours.

During the search, the guide will not only tell you the details and rules of shooting, but also tell you about the wonders that are associated with the northern lights, the nature of its origin, legends and secrets of the unique phenomenon.
