Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Murmansk. Hunting for the Northern Lights
Arrival in Murmansk.
We recommend arriving in Murmansk before 16:00 on the first day so that you can check into the hotel, relax and leave your things.
You arrive at the hotel in Murmansk on your own.
Before hunting for the northern lights, we recommend having a good dinner to be full of energy.
Departure for the hunt for the northern lights. The duration of the tour is 3-5 hours.
Photography is included in the price of the tour. You will go hunting with a professional photographer guide who will do his best to find the amazing Aurora for you!
The tour includes 2 trips to the Northern Lights without additional charges, which increases our chances of seeing it up to 98%!
How the Northern Lights tour is going:
The gathering of tourists takes place in the parking lot at the entrance to the Azimut hotel (in the center of Murmansk). Approximate time of the training camp: 20:00-22:00. The exact time and place of the training camp will be announced by the coordinator the day before.
Let's go on tour! The duration of the hunt is 3-5 hours, depending on how quickly we find the starry sky. The northern lights themselves can appear at any moment!
Photography is included in the price of the tour. First, we will take group photos, then individual ones on a first-come, first-served basis.
To keep warm, you will be offered hot tea with light snacks (sweets, chocolate, cookies).
After the tour, you will be taken to your place of residence in Murmansk. The approximate time of return to the city is 00:00-02:00.
You will receive photos after the tour for 3-4 days in the format of a link to Google Drive or Yandex Disk.
Important! The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and no one can guarantee its appearance. In total, the program includes 2 trips to the Northern Lights tour.

Day 2 - A trip to the Edge of the Earth in Teriberka
We meet with the guide in the lobby of the Azimut hotel, check our readiness to go on a trip to the very edge of the earth — to the legendary Teriberka.
Let's go to the ocean coast!
Along the way, we make stops in picturesque places to observe the amazing landscapes of the Arctic tundra, enjoy the lakes and the northern expanses.
Arrival in Teriberka, and the first location to visit is the eternal parking lot of abandoned fishing ships ("graveyard of ships").
Then we go to the pier, where a boat is waiting for us, on which we will go in search of whales.
If access to the sea is impossible due to weather conditions, the tour program will be changed to an extended walking tour.
Attention! The berths do not have convenient access to boats due to strong tides. We'll have to go down the steep stairs. All berths in Teriberka were equipped for fishing and the corresponding boats.
The duration of the boat trip is approximately 2 hours. If we are lucky, we will see whales, dolphins and other marine life of the Barents Sea.
After a boat trip, we go for a hearty lunch at the local cafe Teriberki.

Return to Murmansk. Free time.
Under favorable weather conditions, we go hunting for the northern lights. In total, the program provides 2 (two) hunting trips.

Day 3 - Getting to know the capital of the Arctic
Gathering of guests in Murmansk in front of the entrance to the Azimut hotel. The exact time and place will be announced by the coordinator the day before.
During the sightseeing tour you will visit the main sights of Murmansk (the tour takes 3 hours):
The memorial to the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic during the Great Patriotic War is Alyosha, located on the Green Cape hill, offering panoramic views of the whole of Murmansk.
Memorial complex for sailors who died in peacetime. The ensemble includes: the cabin of the Kursk submarine, a ship's anchor, a hexagonal lighthouse.
Marine station with a small embankment, inspection (without visiting) of the world's first nuclear icebreaker "Lenin".
Cross the longest bridge above the Arctic Circle and visit a panoramic location on the opposite shore of the Kola Bay, offering panoramic views of the city of Murmansk and its surroundings.
After the program, we go to lunch at a cafe in Murmansk. Lunch is included in the price of the tour.
Return to the Azimut Hotel. Completion of the tour, free time.
Under favorable weather conditions, we go hunting for the northern lights. In total, the program provides 2 (two) hunting trips.

Day 4 - Culture and traditions of the indigenous peoples of the North
Before the tour, you can leave your belongings in the luggage room at the Azimut Hotel completely free of charge and pick them up after the tour before going to the airport.

We are going to an ethnic village. The journey time will take about 1 hour.
Arrival, acquaintance. The program awaits us:
Let's meet the handsome reindeer.
Let's treat the deer with yagel (northern moss is a favorite treat of deer).
We'll take memorable photos, there's even a "model" deer living here.
We will visit the national dwelling, sit on warm reindeer skins, and taste the national cuisine.
We will take part in a cooking class.
We will cook Sami fish soup on the fire, bake potatoes and fresh deer fillet in the coals.
Over a cup of tea, let's talk about the Sami people. Let's talk about our history, traditions, and way of life.
Let's talk about Sami and the Sami language.
At parting, we will learn a little secret, thanks to which, perhaps the most cherished wish will come true!
On the way back to Murmansk, we will visit the modern embankment of the city of Kola, where we will see the mouth of the Kola and Tuloma rivers.
Return to the Azimut Hotel. The approximate time of arrival in the city is 15:00-16:00. Completion of the program.
We recommend buying tickets with departure from Murmansk after 18:00 in order to comfortably get to the airport.

This year, I finally fulfilled a dream of visiting the Arctic Circle! A friend and I chose a summer trip to the North: 'Whales, Teriberka and Waterfalls.' We booked through the tour operator 'Big Country' and were really pleased with the experience. In just four days, we collected so many incredible memories: we saw stunning waterfalls, learned fascinating facts about the unique tundra landscape, went on a whale-watching boat ride, took amazing photos at Dragon Egg Beach, visited an indigenous Sami house and enjoyed delicious traditional dishes. We were thrilled with the trip! Special thanks to our guide Victor, who shared so many interesting stories, answered all our questions and led the tour with real passion! We stayed at the Azimut Hotel, which was great. Everything was well-organized with no issues at all—I loved it all!
