Walking tour of the Nile Desert.

Nilova Pustyn is the most important monastery in the Tver region. It was founded in the 16th century.

The monastery is located on an island, which is reached by a causeway from the village of Svetlitsa. All the temples and buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved in the Nile Desert. The richest monastery in Russia was created by many famous architects: I. Charlemagne, A. Battani.

Nilova Pustyn is a whole city consisting of buildings for various purposes: residential and farm buildings, rooms for the abbot of the monastery and the brethren, barns, cellars, forges, ship repair shops.

In the middle of the monastery stands the Cathedral of the Epiphany of the Lord. After the tour, we recommend going up to the bell tower, which offers a magnificent panorama of the lake, adjacent islands, coastal villages and villages.

After the tour, we recommend visiting a very interesting museum of the monastery's history.

Bus tour of Ostashkov, which is more than 600 years old. A peculiar feature of Ostashkov is the feeling that he is standing right on the water. There are wooden houses of the 19th century, stone temples, as well as houses with lions and Atlanteans in the city.

Bogorodichny Monastery in Ostashkov is a modest, beautiful in its simplicity, strict monastery, one of the oldest and most amazing architectural monuments, the spiritual centers of the Upper Volga region.

Founded in 1716, the monastery was dedicated to the main highly revered local shrine, the Smolensk Icon of Our Lady of Odigitria, the protector and patroness of Ostashkov.

10:00 Departure to Torzhok.

Sightseeing tour of the city. Torzhok is one of the oldest cities in the Upper Volga region. Numerous architectural monuments of the XVII-XIX centuries have been preserved in the city, among them: the wooden church of the Ascension of the XVII century, the Traveling Palace, built under Catherine the Great.

As well as the Borisoglebsky Monastery complex, the Transfiguration Cathedral, architectural masterpieces of the XVIII century by N. A. Lviv with the only monument to the great architect in Russia, numerous residential buildings in the classical style.

Visit to the A.S. Pushkin Museum in Torzhok. The museum's exposition allows us to present A. S. Pushkin's path along the highway from St. Petersburg to Moscow: ancient maps of Russian roads, household items, horse harnesses, Valdai bells, images of postal stations.

As well as inns, autographs of the poet's letters to relatives and friends describing road events, Pushkin's sketches of landscapes and road scenes – help the museum visitor to be transported back to the Pushkin era.
