Day 1 - Departure from Saint Petersburg. Torzhok City Tour

14:00 Torzhok city tour.
You will see all the main sights of the city: the Empire-style Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Savior, the old Ascension Church and the Novotorzhsky Borisoglebsky Monastery, founded in the distant XI century during the reign of Yaroslav I Vladimirovich.
In addition, there are monuments to Lenin, Pushkin, Lviv and St. Ephraim of Novotorzhsky.
We will visit the famous museum of "Gold Embroidery", where you will learn the history of the expensive craft in the truest sense of the word. The museum presents tools used to create unique embroidery and works made at different times.

In the center of the lavra is the magnificent Trinity Cathedral. The miraculous relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the main shrine of the Trinity–Sergius Lavra, rest here. You have a unique opportunity to mentally address the great saint of Russia at the shrine with his imperishable miraculous relics.
The cathedral is decorated with frescoes by the great icon painters Andrei Rublev and Daniil Cherny. The Trinity icon, a unique masterpiece of ancient Russian icon painting and the most famous creation of Andrei Rublev, was also painted here.
Take a walk through the territory of this great Orthodox monastery and be sure to collect healing water from the holy lavra springs.

Sabrage master class (sabrage is the opening of champagne with one movement of the sabre).
Visit to the Museum of Russian National Drinks, the hall "Hussars in the city".
The exhibition is dedicated to the 10th Ingermanland Hussar Regiment, stationed in Gavrilovo Posad.
"Samovar Hall" – in the samovar hall you will get acquainted with the history of drinks – ivan tea, chicory and sbiten, as well as see household items related to the culture of drinking these drinks - samovars, sbitenniki, tea mushroom, antique coffee grinders and other tableware.
The exposition "The Homeland of the Vladimir heavy truck".
We will introduce you to the history of the breed, show you the elements of the harness and the preserved devices for agricultural work used at the Gavrilovo-Posad stud farm.
Tasting of alcoholic tinctures with a set of snacks (for children, a master class on making lemonade).

monuments of architecture of the XII century of the UNESCO World Heritage Site – architecture of the Assumption Cathedral;

The Golden Gate is a monument of defensive architecture and the main entrance to the city of Vladimir.
A walk along the pedestrian Georgievskaya street.

Everything was well organized, and our guide Tatiana was excellent. The hotels were great as well. The only downside was the Scania bus, I found it uncomfortable and not suitable for such long journeys. (And I’m an average-sized person: 165 cm tall and 60 kg.)
