Itinerary

Day 1 - Meeting in Moscow. Sergiev Posad and Pereslavl-Zalessky
08:45 Gathering of the group in Moscow, at exit No. 1 of the Komsomolskaya metro station, to the right of the Leningrad railway station at the monument to George the Victorious (plaque "Classic Golden Ring").
Transfer to Sergiev Posad– an ancient town located 52 km from Moscow.
The city is known for its main attraction, the Trinity–Sergius Lavra, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Guided tour of the Lavra, visiting temples: Assumption, Dukhovskoy, Refectory.
Lunch.
Transfer to Pereslavl-Zalessky.
In 1220, Prince Alexander Nevsky was born here.
Since the 15th century, Pereslavl-Zalessky has been developing as a significant craft and trade center.
In the XV and XVI centuries, he was obliged to deliver fish to the royal court, which was reflected on the coat of arms of the city.
In 1688, Tsar Peter I began the construction of a funny flotilla in Pereslavl-Zalessky, which was successfully completed in 1692.
Sightseeing program: sightseeing tour of the city with a visit to Red Square and St. Nicholas Monastery.

Day 2 - Rostov the Great and Yaroslavl. Moving to Kostroma
Breakfast.
Departure to Rostov Veliky.
This cozy city, in which unique historical and architectural monuments of the past centuries are located on a small square (the city is only 6 km long).
The city is also famous for its crafts, of which the most famous is probably the painting of enamel miniatures.
Excursion program: Rostov Kremlin – the former residence of the Metropolitan of the Rostov Diocese.
A tour of the Kremlin's architectural ensemble and one of the museum's many expositions.
Visit to the Zhar Ptitsa craft yard to purchase souvenirs.
Departure to Yaroslavl– the capital of the Golden Ring of Russia.
Lunch.
Sightseeing program: sightseeing tour, Volga embankment, the oldest part – the arrow of the Volga and Kotorosli rivers, monument to Yaroslav the Wise– the founder of the city, Church of Elijah the Prophet.
Visit to the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery, the famous "The Word of Igor's Regiment".
Transfer to Kostroma.

Day 3 - Kostroma, Ples and Ivanovo
Breakfast.
We will visit the Ipatievsky Monastery, founded by the zeal of the influential nobleman of the Golden Horde of the Tatar Murza Chet, who traveled through these regions on his way to Moscow to serve Grand Duke Ivan Kalita.
We will explore the picturesque ensemble of the monastery, the Trinity Cathedral, the main temple of the Ipatievsky monastery.
Originally wooden, the cathedral was rebuilt in stone in the middle of the 16th century at the expense of the Godunov boyars, which is why it is sometimes called "Godunovsky".
In summer, a boat trip along the Volga River will be offered (included in the price).
Lunch.

Departure to Ples, a tiny quiet town on the high bank of the Great Volga.

Sightseeing program: sightseeing tour of the city with a visit to Cathedral Mountain, from where you can enjoy amazing views of the Volga River and the beautiful Volga embankment.
Departure to Ivanovo.

Day 4 - Suzdal and Vladimir
Breakfast.
We are going on an excursion to Suzdal, the museum city, because there are so many monuments of the history of Russia, as well as ancient buildings, unique churches and objects of wooden architecture that have survived to this day in one piece.
Interestingly, there is not a single industrial enterprise in Suzdal, which makes it an environmentally friendly place.
Most of the buildings in Suzdal are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
For decades, the ancient city has served as a filming location for many films.
Sightseeing program: sightseeing tour, the architecture of the majestic Suzdal Kremlin, the construction of which began in the 10th century!
The stunning Nativity Cathedral, the St. Euthymius Monastery, founded in 1350, and the Transfiguration Cathedral with frescoes by Gury Nikitin.
Lunch.
Free time.
Transfer to Vladimir, one of the largest cities in the Golden Ring of Russia, located on the high bank of the Klyazma River.
The main asset of the Vladimir land is the most beautiful examples of white stone architecture, included in the UNESCO list.
In 1157, Andrei Bogolyubsky moved the capital of the Rostov-Suzdal Principality from Suzdal to Vladimir. After the death of his father, Yuri Dolgoruky, he did not go to reign in Kiev, but made Vladimir the capital of Russia.
In the 13th century, the city was captured and ravaged by the troops of Batu Khan. The city never recovered from this shock and already in the 14th century it lost the status of Moscow's capital.

Day 5 - Bogolyubovo and a tour of Vladimir. Return to Moscow
Breakfast.
Transfer to Bogolyubovo.
Bogolyubovo was first mentioned in the chronicles in 1158. Andrey Bogolyubsky founded the settlement for his residence. There is a legend that it was in this place that the prince saw the apparition of the Virgin Mary, who ordered the founding of a monastery and a city.
Excursion program: The Grand Ducal residence of Andrei Bogolyubsky, the architectural ensemble of the Bogolyubsky Monastery. Walk to the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl (depending on weather conditions).
Return to Vladimir.
Lunch.

Assumption Cathedral, Dmitrievsky Cathedral – a unique example of Russian white-stone carved architecture of the 12th century.
