Itinerary

Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Tver. Tver brewery "Afanasy"
The participants get to the meeting place of the group by themselves in any convenient way.
08:00 Gathering of the group in Moscow, VDNKh metro station, parking lot to the right of the Kosmos Hotel.
08:15 Departure by bus to Tver.
Sightseeing tour of Tver. Tver is a city that surprises with a combination of antiquity and modernity.
We will walk along the embankment of Stepan Razin, built on the principle of a "single facade" (greetings from St. Petersburg).
We will see the famous Tver "Three Beams" (an analogue of Versailles and St. Petersburg) and the majestic Imperial Travel Palace (external inspection).
The Transfiguration Cathedral is the first shrine built in Russia after the Mongol invasion.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
Excursion to the current production facility – Afanasy brewery. We will see how the legendary live beer is born, and, of course, we will arrange a tasting!
Please note: the tour has an age limit of 18+. For young tourists, instead of beer, there is a tasting of delicious farm products: goat yogurt, cranberries in sugar, etc.

Day 2 - Sightseeing tour of Torzhok. Gastronomic tour
10:00 am Brunch in the hotel restaurant.
Departure to Torzhok.
Torzhok is a city that has frozen in time and preserved the spirit of merchant Russia of the 19th century.
Torzhok City Sightseeing tour:
we will see the oldest Borisoglebsky Monastery (1038), the Transfiguration Cathedral, which is jokingly called the "piece of St. Isaac";
take a walk along the embankment of the Tvertsa River;
getting to know the secret of the famous fireman's cutlets, which Pushkin himself tried!
Departure to the Italian cheese farm at La Fattoria Little Italy.
And now — a complete contrast! This is the oldest Italian agricultural farm in Russia. There is a gastronomic delight here:
tasting of several types of natural cheeses (burrata, mozzarella, ricotta, etc.);
Sumptuous Italian lunch: lasagna alla Bolognese, delicate polpettes and farm desserts*.
*The menu is indicative, the restaurant reserves the right to make changes to it.
Free time to visit the local cheese shop and souvenir shop.
Return to Tver.
Free time. Participation in festive New Year celebrations.
Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3 - Staritsa and Rzhev
08:00 Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
Departure to Staritsa.
Staritsa is a small town on the Volga River, which holds a great history and many secrets. It is a storehouse of numerous churches and cathedrals with unique architecture.
Sightseeing of the Staritsky Holy Dormition Monastery– the favorite of Ivan the Terrible!
Transfer to Rzhev. The glorious city of Rzhev, the first along the Volga, was founded in the 11th century. The city played a special role during the Great Patriotic War, and today it bears the honorary title of "City of Military Glory."
Lunch in a cafe in the city, for dessert – delicious Rye gingerbread.
Sightseeing tour of Rzhev. Admire the rare, miraculously preserved monuments of the "pre—war" Rzhev - the house of the Obraztsov merchants, the State Bank building, and see the oldest Okovetsky Cathedral with the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Okovetskaya.
And also the Old Believers Church of the Intercession, which was not closed either under Soviet rule or during the German occupation.
The culmination of the trip is a grandiose 25—meter monument to a Soviet Soldier.
The figure of a warrior hovering over a hill in a flock of cranes causes goosebumps and strong emotions. A place of incredible power.
Departure to Moscow.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.
