Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Trinity-Sergius Lavra – Pereslavl-Zalessky

Meeting with a guide in Moscow, on Komsomolskaya Square near Leningradsky railway Station at 09:00.

    Boarding the bus.

    Transfer to Sergiev Posad.

Sergiev Posad is the spiritual capital of Russia and the place where Sergius of Radonezh lived and prayed.

Here stands the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, a monastic "state within a state" surrounded by fortress walls that survived wars and sieges.

You will see white stone temples, monastic cells and an 88-meter baroque bell tower with a golden crown.

A sightseeing tour of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra will introduce you to the shrines, architecture and sights of one of the largest centers of Russian spiritual culture and enlightenment.

In the Lavra you will see three main temples – the Spiritual Church, the Assumption Cathedral and the church in honor of St. Peter. St. Sergius with the Refectory Chamber.

    Lunch (extra charge).

    Transfer to Pereslavl-Zalessky.

    Check-in at the hotel.

    Evening walking tour of Pereslavl-Zalessky.

Once the largest city in the north-east of Russia, its ramparts reached a length of 2.5 km.

The city, the very foundation of which marked the future formation of a unified Russian state.

The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral of the 12th century and the ensembles of six monasteries, which miraculously survived the invasions of the Tatar-Mongols and the Polish-Lithuanian intervention of the 17th century, remind of these times.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first. Huge thanks to our amazing guide, Andrey, and to Venaris, our incredibly skilled driver!
