Day 2 - Kostroma city tour, flax and birch bark Museum, Holy Trinity Ipatievsky Monastery for men
09:00-09:30 Breakfast.

Departure to Kostroma (~ 30 min.).

Sightseeing tour of Kostroma, the pearl of the Golden Ring of Russia!
Kostroma is the oldest jewelry center, craft and merchant city on the Volga, and the beautifully preserved ensemble of 18th–19th century mansions, patterned wooden houses and fan-shaped streets gives it a special, unique charm.
You will admire the Fire Tower, an outstanding monument of classicism, the Guardhouse, the House of Senator Borshchov, get acquainted with the beautifully preserved ensemble of Shopping malls that are still in service, see the monument to Ivan Susanin, V.I. Lenin, visit the territory of the second Kostroma Kremlin.
Excursion to the Holy Trinity Ipatievsky Monastery Kostroma rightfully has the status of the cradle of the Romanov dynasty.
After all, it was within the walls of the Ipatievsky Monastery that Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov was called to the royal throne.
From here, the royal path of the dynasty began, which lasted just over 300 years.
Guided tour of the territory and the Trinity Cathedral with unique frescoes.
An excursion to the Flax and Birch Bark Museum will present to your attention the features of the weaving craft of the past centuries, unique birch bark and linen products made by our predecessors and modern craftsmen.

Day 4 - Excursion to the Sumarokovskaya moose farm, Cheese Museum
09:00 Breakfast.
9:30 Meeting with the guide in the lobby. Departure to Krasnoselsky district, Kostroma region (~ 1 hour).
Excursion to the Sumarokovskaya moose farm, which is famous for its amazing inhabitants.
You will see the wonderful animals that live in our forests.
In terms of strength and size, moose compete only with bears.
But despite their strength and power, they are kind and calm animals.
You can pet them, treat them to sweet, crunchy carrots and, of course, try real moose milk.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
Excursion to the Cheese Museum.
The cheese sommelier, a well-known cheese specialist in narrow circles, will guide the guests through the halls of the ancient mansion, constantly telling them about the most mysterious, amazing and unexpected cheese stories.
You will learn how and where the first cheese appeared, see and even be able to touch ancient and modern cheese making devices, laugh at cheese fun, discover a whole world called "Cheese".
You will find strange artifacts and tricky surprises, technical gadgets and absolutely unverified facts.
In small, cozy shops, you need to buy a piece of cheese from local cheese makers.

Day 6 - Excursion to Ples, Levitan Museum, boat trip along the Volga
Breakfast.

Departure to Ples (~1 hour).
The beginning of the excursion program.
The city of Ples is amazingly beautiful, it is even called the "pearl of the Volga" and the "Russian gem".
There are no architectural masterpieces in Ples, but there are unique masterpieces of natural beauty.
A sightseeing walking tour of the city will allow you to see the Bald in all its glory: the high Cathedral Mountain, where the fortress walls have not stood for a long time – only century-old birch trees, the royal Assumption Cathedral, the bulbs of ancient churches and the Volga expanses stretching beyond the horizon.
Excursion to the Levitan Museum – the artist Isaac Levitan was in Ples for the first time in the summer of 1888 and was simply amazed by the beauty of these places, it was here that he created a total of 23 paintings and more than 200 sketches, which brought him worldwide fame.
Boat trip along the Volga – you will enjoy the beauty of the great Russian river and the views of the Plain (in case of adverse weather conditions, the boat trip will be replaced by an excursion to the museum of Public places).
Lunch at a cafe.

Optional excursion to the city of Nerekhta (for an additional fee).
Please note: this additional tour will take place when a group of 15 people or more is recruited.
Day 8 - Music and Time Museum, Yaroslavl Kremlin Museum Reserve and Yaroslavl city tour
9:00 a.m. Breakfast.
09:30 Meeting with the guide in the lobby.
Departure to Yaroslavl (~ 2.5 hours).
The beginning of the excursion program.
Sightseeing tour of Yaroslavl.
You will walk along the longest Volga embankment.
You will be able to see the new Assumption Cathedral – Yaroslavl Cathedral and one of the most beautiful temples of the XVIII century – the Temple of Elijah the Prophet, the Shopping malls of the 19th century and the unique preserved towers of the second Yaroslavl Kremlin, and of course the famous Volkovsky Theater.
Visiting the museum complex – Museum of Music and Time – You will be presented with unique collections of watches, porcelain and samovars, you will learn many interesting facts and appreciate the beauty and sophistication of the creations of the masters.
An excursion to the Yaroslavl Kremlin State Museum-Reserve awaits you with a fascinating immersion in the history of the ancient city and the opportunity to touch the most ancient stone buildings of Yaroslavl.

about tour - Vacation on the Volga shores

I booked the “Vacation on the Volga Shores” tour (June 15-22, 2024) for my mother. The trip was wonderful, full of positive эмоций, new discoveries, and enjoyable interactions. Everything was organized professionally and efficiently, from the welcome in Yaroslavl to the accommodation, the program itself, and the journey home. The excursions were diverse and very engaging. The group stayed at a lovely sanatorium with beautiful grounds, excellent meals, entertainment options, and a variety of wellness treatments. I would especially like to mention the driver, Vitali, who was attentive, polite, and drove very safely. The guides, Boris, Anastasia, Nikita, and Natalia, were true professionals and made the experience even more memorable. Special thanks to the tour provider, Elena. All questions were addressed promptly, and her responsible, professional attitude toward every member of the group was clearly evident. I will definitely reach out again to plan another trip!

Everything was well organized. All the tour information was sent in advance, we were met promptly, and the hotel check-in was quick and smooth.

I’m grateful to the tour provider, overall, I really enjoyed the trip. My only comment is about the meals. For example, I don’t eat meat or dairy products, and when filling out the questionnaire, I clearly listed everything I strictly avoid. When I arrived at the café for lunch, I double-checked about getting a meat-free meal, and they assured me they had my information and would serve a suitable option. I trusted that, but after just a few spoonfuls of borscht, I found pieces of meat which was quite disappointing and irresponsible. As a result, I was left half hungry, since I could only eat a small piece of pollock with some potatoes and salad and the portions were very small. I also wasn’t happy with lunch at the Slavyansky restaurant: the borscht they planned to serve as a "meat-free" dish was clearly cooked in meat broth, so I had to refuse it. The portion of cod there was maybe about 100 grams, served with rice, so at least I didn’t stay completely hungry. In conclusion, I’d really like to see dietary requests taken more seriously. Some travelers may also have allergies, so if someone writes that they don’t eat certain foods, it’s important to pay close attention to that.
