Altai. The Multin lakes and rafting

In the morning, we drive by cross–country car to the long-awaited lakes, the first of which is Nizhny Multinskoye.

The road is an adventure in itself. 

We will drive through meadows and taiga forests to mountain lakes. 

Upon arrival, we take our things apart and walk 3 km along the trail, admiring the surrounding views, to the place of our first overnight stay and camp for the next few days, which we will set up on the shore of the Middle Multin Lake. 

Then we cook lunch and rest after a hard road. 

The Multa River bursts noisily from the Middle to the Lower Lake, forming rolling Noises. 

This waterfall is a natural dam – a moraine shaft about 150 meters long, composed of large boulders. 

Lakes are filled with water due to the melting of glaciers.

In the evening, we will walk to the rolling Noise. 

We'll put up tents thoroughly, stretch and strengthen them properly. 

This is necessary for a comfortable stay in case of bad weather. 

Let's cook dinner and make tea on the glacial water from the lake.

By car: 22 km, on foot: 3 km with backpacks, accommodation: tents, meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Today we will admire the Altai beauties – lakes, rivers, snowy peaks of the mountains – and climb to the Upper Multinsky Lake. 

Again, an early rise and a boat trip to the cordon. 

Now we follow the trail along the Multa River, where Lake Verkhneye Multinskoye awaits us.

We will find a cozy place with a wonderful panoramic view and arrange lunch in a clearing.

In the evening we return to our camp near the Shumy ridge.

On foot: 16 km light, altitude difference: 160 m., accommodation: tents, meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Today we have an early rise again, because in the mountains the weather is usually great in the morning.

We'll only take a snack and things with us in case of bad weather.

We go along the lake to the cordon by boat and then continue on foot. 

We walk along the Multa River to its confluence with the Transverse River, the trail is reserved, you can often find animal tracks here, and if you're lucky, then the animals themselves. 

At the mouth of the Multa and Transversal rivers, turn left and climb to the Transversal Lake. 

Along the way, we will see a waterfall where water falls from a height of 25 meters. 

We'll have a picnic by the lake, time for a photo shoot, rest. 

Those who wish will be able to swim. 

The water in the lake is very cold, but it's worth it. 

We return to the camp and cook dinner.

On foot: 17 km light, altitude difference: 250 m., accommodation: tents, meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

The previous days were very busy. 

Therefore, before lunch we will relax, swim in the lake and walk along the shore. 

And in the afternoon we will return to the shore of the Lower Lake, where we will set up camp for two nights. 

Those who wish can order a sauna.

An early rise again. 

We will ford a small river and go to the neighboring Kuyguk Valley.

The valley is very picturesque, and the Kuyguk waterfall and the lake of the same name with a rich turquoise color will impress even sophisticated tourists.

Picnic right on the shore of the lake. 

Those who want to take a break from tracking can get enough sleep and stay in the camp for a day. 

Here you can go boating, sunbathe, and walk around the surroundings. 

The lower Multinskoye Lake is quite suitable for swimming: the water on its surface warms up to +15°C in summer. 

Fishing is not prohibited here, so fans can catch grayling. 

In addition, tourist complexes offer jeep tours for anglers. 

There are a lot of mushrooms, blueberries, lingonberries, honeysuckle, pine cones with nuts in the forest.

It is an extreme morning on the shore of a mountain lake in the middle of majestic mountains.

Morning fog, delicious porridge and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee – we will remember these moments for a long time.

Let's say the mountains: "See you soon!” and let's go to the village of Multa.

We are located at the base. 

Everyone can take a walk to the Katun River or along the village of Multa.

Overnight at the base of the village of Multa in cabins.

Car: 22 km. On foot: 3 km with backpacks, 1 km light. Accommodation: cabins. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

In order for your journey through the Altai Mountains to become completely complete, you definitely need to get to know Katunya better. 

We will go rafting just below the village of Tyungur to the Akkem River, which originates under Belukha. 

Experience is not required, we will get all the necessary equipment on the spot. 

If you are afraid of water or just don't want to go rafting, on this day you can stay at the base, relax, take a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. 

In the evening, we return to the base in Multa, where a hot bath will be waiting for us.

Morning rise and departure to Novosibirsk.

If necessary, we will bring part of the group to Gorno-Altaysk. 

Along the way, we will make several stops at a cafe and a souvenir market.

No one should leave Altai without a souvenir. 

Farewell to the participants before going home. 

The approximate time of arrival in Novosibirsk is 22:00.

We recommend taking tickets home from Novosibirsk after 00:00.
