Winter jeep tour of Altai

Today we will drive along the entire Uymon Valley, which separates the Katunsky and Terektinsky ridges. 

In good weather, we will have the opportunity to see the beautiful Beluga Whale (4506 m) from the observation deck. 

On the way back, an excursion to the village of Verkhny Uymon – one of the oldest villages in the Ust-Koksinsky district, founded by Old Believers more than 300 years ago. 

There are three museums in the village: the N.K. Roerich Museum of Local Lore, the Museum of Old Believers and the Museum of Gems. 

Overnight in Ust-Koksa village

After breakfast, we go by jeep to the village of Multa-Maralnik, transfer to snowmobiles with sleds and continue our journey to the Lower Multa Lake. 

The lake is located at an altitude of 1710 meters and is a Natural Monument. 

Hiking in the surrounding area. 

In the evening, return to the hotel and rest.

Overnight in S.Ust-Koksa.

Length: by car – 60 km, snowmobile – 26 km, on foot – 5 km.

After breakfast, check out the rooms, transfer to Aktau. 

We will take a look at the Karakol Nature Park "Uch Enmek".

During the tour, we will get acquainted with various types of traditional housing of the indigenous inhabitants of Altai, as well as the basics of their material and spiritual culture. 

On the way, we will make a stop at the confluence of the Chuya and Katun rivers (only in winter these rivers can be seen in this color!). 

Nearby we will see the petroglyphs "Kalbak- tash".

This unique archaeological site of the Altai Republic was a sacred place for the peoples living here at different times. 

Now the complex has about 5 thousand rock carvings from different eras.

In the morning we visit the Red Gate. 

Driving along a narrow ribbon of road across the Chibitka River, it is impossible not to stop looking at a picturesque place – huge steep red cliffs rise 50 meters high, thanks to volcanic rocks that contain an admixture of mercury minerals. 

Next, the Geyser Lake is the "earthly eye" of a unique turquoise color. 

From time to time, the "geysers" come to life, throwing a mixture of bluish clay and sand to the surface, forming numerous circles at the bottom of the lake. 

Then a trip to the Kyzyl Chin valley (Altai Mars), where unreal Martian landscapes are waiting for us, painted with an amazing palette of colors. 

The local rock contains mercury in large quantities and this gives a reddish hue to the surrounding rocks. 

Overnight in the village of Aktash.

The excursion to Altai Mars is conducted under favorable weather conditions

After breakfast, room release, transfer to Chemal village. 

On the way, we will stop at the bison nursery, which is located in the village of Cherga. 

In winter, you can see a bison a step away from yourself.

At this time of the year, bison are very peaceful, they approach the grid and take bread and carrots from their hands. 

Food can be purchased on site. 

Then we will drive to the village of Chemal for lunch. 

Visit to Patmos Island.

Transfer to Manzherok. 

Excursion ascent to Sinyukha mountain. 

Rest.
