New unexplored and incredibly beautiful places. Lake Taimenye is the second largest lake in Altai. The lake stretches for 5420 m, the length is 1080 m. Grayling and lenok are found in the lake. In this regard, the origin of the name of the lake is curious. Some researchers suggest that, apparently, the locals confused lenka with taimen fish, which was the reason for the name of the lake.

We have tried to make your trip comfortable: pack horses will accompany you on the route for all eight days, they will transport food and public equipment – tents, boilers, awnings.

Itinerary

Day 1 - The Chuisky tract. Gathering of the group in Ust-Koksa village
Departure from Gorno-Altaysk (airport) at 11:00 to Ust-Koksa (if all participants arrive earlier, then an earlier departure is possible, on the last arrival).
Arrival of a bus from Novosibirsk to Ust-Koksa/Barnaul at 10:00.
Lunch at the cafe.
The bus from Gorno-Altaisk arrives in Ust-Koksa at 17:00.
The road passes along the famous Chui tract among the rocky ridges of the Altai Mountains, then along the Kansk steppe to the Uymon Valley.

Day 2 - Ust-Koksa – D. Multa-Maralnik. The beginning of the walking route
Lift.
After breakfast, transfer Ust-Koksa – Multa village-Maralnik.
Lower reaches of Kuragan – crossing to the confluence of the Yeshtu and Kuragan rivers, swimming in the crystal clear Yeshtu river in the parking lot (water temperature +5 refreshes perfectly after a long day).
Parking on the shore in a cedar grove, a sound sleep with the aroma of healing coniferous air.
On this day, we gradually gained an altitude of 1,266 meters, starting our journey from a height of 985 meters above sea level.
Car 25 km/on foot +packhorses 19 km. Meals: camping kitchen. Overnight in tents.
Day 3 - Kazenikhinsky cordon
Today we enter the territory of the Katunsky Nature Reserve.
Transfer to the Kazenikhinsky cordon (height 1489 m).
Half a day.
A beautiful gorge overgrown with centuries-old trees, stormy powerful rivers, here you really feel the presence in a specially protected place.
With a good physical preparation of the group, we arrive quite early.
You can order a sauna (extra charge).

Day 4 - Emerald Lake
The wildest places, surrounded by the pristine beauty of nature and the absence of human traces.
The taiga trail leads to the lake "Emerald".
Overnight near the purest lake (height 2057 m.).
On foot + pack horses 15 km. Meals: camping kitchen. Overnight in tents.
Day 5 - Kazenikhinsky Pass
From the lake, slowly, admiring the panoramic views, we go out to the Kazenikhinsky pass (2365 m.), go down to the parking lot on the Stanovaya River, the height is 1850 meters.
On foot + pack horses 9 km. Meals: camping kitchen. Overnight in tents.
Day 6 - Stanovoy – Talmen Pass
As a good morning charge, there is a small Stanovoy pass – height 2175 m (by this time everyone has already pulled in and cheerfully overcome kilometers of deserted trails), after lunch we go out to the cordon of the Talmen Lake reserve.
The height is 1530 m.
Half-day, fishing is possible, grayling, fish soup, sauna, you can stay in cabins (for an additional fee).
Admiring the pristine nature and the beautiful lake is free and priceless!

Day 7 - Khairuzarovsky and Bolsherechensky passes
Today, the landscapes will change very much, completely different views, winding rivers, green valleys, panoramic views from the passes!
A real aesthetic pleasure!
Khairuzarovsky (2036 m.) and Bolsherechensky (2061 m.) passes, overnight in the area of Lake Sobachye.
On foot + pack horses 13 km. Meals: camping kitchen. Overnight in tents.
Day 8 - The passes are Fast and Quiet dog
The most difficult day, but no less beautiful and interesting, are the Fast (2020 m) and Quiet dog passes (2121 m).
Overnight in the area of the Zaychonok pass.
On foot + pack horses 19 km. Meals: camping kitchen. Overnight in tents.
Day 9 - Return to Ust-Koksa
It's a pretty difficult day.
Zaychonok passes (2201 m), Cheltygash (2244 m).
Crossing to the Agafonikha River at the confluence with the Katan.
Here we say goodbye to the hospitable taiga.
Boat crossing to Maralovodka.
Transfer to Ust-Koksa.
Supper.
A farewell party.
Car 25 km/on foot +pack horses 19 km. Meals: breakfast, lunch - camp kitchen, dinner in a cafe. Overnight in tents.
Day 10 - Departure
In the morning, equipment delivery and an excursion to the village of Verkhny Uymon – one of the oldest villages in the Ust-Koksinsky district.
The village was founded by Old Believers about 300 years ago.
There are two museums in the village: the N.K. Roerich Museum of Local Lore and the Museum of Old Believers.
Lunch.
Departure to Gorno-Altaysk at 18:00.
Hotel accommodation (on your own) Recommended hotels: "Beloved" (S. Maima), "Igman" (Gorno-Altaysk). Transfer to the airport on your own. Taxi Maxim +7 (38822) 2-44-44 (Estimated cost 200 rubles).
Departure to Novosibirsk/Barnaul (Novoaltaysk) (local time, + 4 hours difference from Moscow) at 18.00.
Dinner is on the way at your own expense.
Arrival in Novosibirsk at 08:00 / Barnaul (Novoaltaysk) at 04:00 / Arrival in Gorno-Altaysk at 03:00.
