Restrictions and general recommendations on equipment and luggage.
We draw your attention to the need for a reasonable approach to collecting equipment. We kindly ask you not to take unnecessary things with you: gas cylinders, cooking utensils, tents, meteorological instruments, tools (axes, saws), etc. Everything you need for catering, overnight stays, and water safety will be provided to you. The total volume of personal equipment should not exceed 90 liters in volume and 20 kg in weight. Your personal belongings will accompany you on your journey by land and water transport, so it's better to transport everything in a good backpack or suitcase.
1. Karemat and sleeping bag (optional – the tour includes karemats and sleeping bags with individual inserts)
The karemat should be light, soft, at least 10 mm thick, and not allow moisture and cold to pass through.
The sleeping bag is selected according to temperature and filler material. For summer tours to Lake Baikal, hooded sleeping bags with synthetic fillers with a comfort temperature from -5 to 5 degrees are suitable.
Please note that the extreme temperature is not an indicator of the comfort of a sleeping bag. Do not forget to take into account that the sleeping bags differ in size and right/left zipper. Of the brands, we recommend watching Alexika, Vertical, Red Fox, Ferrino, Bask.
2. Waterproof and windproof clothes are primarily trousers and a jacket. Both items should cover the lower back, ideally contain membrane fabrics (which allow clothes not to get wet and at the same time "breathe"), tighten on sleeves and gachs. Pleasant moments are the presence of ventilation, pockets, reflective elements and puffs. Look at the products of companies such as Red Fox, Sivera, Bask, Marmot, Salewa. Be sure to bring a rain cape with you, which will cover both you and your backpack.
3. Insulation
We recommend that you bring a sweatshirt and trousers from Polartec. It is a very pleasant to the body, warm, lightweight and quick-drying material. On Baikal evenings, you will be very comfortable in clothes made of such fabric. The recommended brands are the same as for jackets and trousers.
4. The seat is an individual tourist seat with an elastic band.
It will be more pleasant for you to sit with it, for example, in a kayak, and it can also additionally protect the lower back from the wind during walks.
5. Dishes (optional – the tour provides sets of dishes for each guest) Take only "iron" dishes made of light alloys. A mug (preferably thermo, so that the Baikal tea does not cool down), a deep plate, a fork, a spoon and a knife.
6. Shoes
Hiking shoes (trekking sneakers, half-boots or boots). Shoes should be in size, comfortable, worn in advance, and fix the shin. We recommend shoes from the companies Asolo, LaSportiva, Meindl, Scarpa, Campus, Solomon. You can take light sneakers or sandals for a shift.
Rubber sandals with a closed toe. This pair of shoes will be used for recreation in the camp, taking water treatments. The so-called "flip-flops" will not go due to their unreliability.
Rubber boots we recommend soft, light and warm EVA boots. Shorter versions of boots are suitable.
