Excursion to the Kolokolnikov Museum.
The Kolokolnikov Estate is the pearl of wooden architecture in Tyumen. The building was built by merchant Ivan Ikonnikov in 1804, and in 1837, Tsarevich Alexander II stopped at the city head, who by that time was already Ivan Vasilyevich.
Later, philanthropist Ivan Kolokolnikov became the owner of the estate.
The first exhibition that opened in the museum was the exhibition "The history of the house of the XIX — early XX centuries", telling about the life of the owners.
The exhibition "Kolokolnikov Trading House. Heirs" is located in the building of a Trading house and tells about the trading traditions of a merchant city.
The exhibition presents a collective image of large shops and stalls in Tyumen in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Day 2 - Tyumen. Theatrical city tour, wooden architecture quarter

The Tyumen merchant's Wife will immerse you in the amazing atmosphere of the ancient city and introduce you to the history of Tyumen.
The merchant's wife will tell you where the most lively trade took place in pre-revolutionary Tyumen and what goods Tyumen merchants supplied to Europe.
You will visit Yamskaya Sloboda, visit ancient neighborhoods with rich wooden house carvings, admire the "Gates of Siberia" from the Bridge of Lovers, and also learn about the secrets of trading houses of the XIX-XX century.

Day 3 - Ethnographic complex, sightseeing tour of the Kurgan

Transfer to the village of Rychkovo.
Excursion to the ethnographic complex "Museum of the village. Cossack farmstead" with a tea party.
There are five wooden houses on the territory of the ethnographic complex.
They are authentic examples of wooden architecture of the second half of the 19th — first half of the 20th century and were transported here from different villages of the Kurgan region.
The complex has completely restored the way of life of the Ural Cossacks and the rural lifestyle, which immerses them in the antiquity and traditions of Cossack culture.
In the museum you can hear ancient folklore songs, taste traditional dishes and drinks, and many exhibits can be held in your hands.
Transfer to Kurgan.

Sightseeing tour of Kurgan with a visit to the cultural and historical complex Tsarevo Gorodishche.
The founder of the city is Timofey Nevezhin, who was the first to build a hut on the banks of the Tobol River, in the vicinity of a huge ancient burial mound. Gradually, other settlers began to join him, and later the settlement was moved downstream of the Tobol.
The resulting settlement was called Tsarev Settlement, and then Kurgan settlement. At the beginning of the 18th century, a wooden fortress was built here, and by decree of Empress Catherine II, Kurgan Sloboda became the city of Kurgan.
Kurgan was once a center of trade and a place of exile, and after the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway, the city began to actively grow and develop.
Today Kurgan is an industrial city.
During the city tour, you will see the "Kilometer Zero" sign, the City Garden, the monument to L. Krasin, and the preserved buildings of wooden architecture.

Day 4 - The mound. Museum of Traumatology and Orthopedics Tour

The Ilizarov Center Museum is Russia's first museum of traumatology and orthopedics. It was opened in 1993. The office of an orthopedic surgeon, academician Gavriil Ilizarov, who patented a device for splicing and stretching bones, has been recreated here.
The Museum's collection is based on the collection, which includes items from Academician Ilizarov's personal fund, personal belongings, photographs, furniture, writing materials, books, gifts and fine art.
The museum collection is being updated with materials about the history of the Ilizarov Center, new diplomas, patents, souvenirs, new modifications of the external fixation device.

The city was founded in 1736 as a fortress on the site of the Bashkir village of Chelyaba on the geological border of the Urals and Siberia on the eastern slope of the Ural Mountains and on the banks of the Miass River.
Colonel A.I. Tevkelev is considered the founder of Chelyabinsk. Once upon a time, the city was a major trading center through which trading caravans passed, and Chelyabinsk was also called Tankograd.
Today it is a city of millions, the unofficial capital of the Southern Urals and the industrial center of Russia.

Excursion to the State Historical Museum of the Southern Urals.
The museum was founded in 1923. Throughout the museum's history, it has been continuously working to create and preserve exhibitions. In 2006, the museum moved to a new building, which was designed by S.F. Yakobyuk.
Today, the museum's collections contain about 300,000 exhibits that tell about the culture, history of the region, nature and archaeological finds.

Day 6 - Sysert. P.P. Bazhov House Museum

The museum is located in the birthplace of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov in the former working village of Sysert and represents the manor house of the factory worker of the Urals. Today, the House Museum is a cultural monument of regional importance.
The museum's exposition is dedicated to the life of the inhabitants of Sysert in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. and of course Pavel Bazhov, whose childhood was spent in these places.

The first Russian settlement on the territory of modern Yekaterinburg is considered to be the village of Shartash, which was founded by the Old Believers in 1672 on the shore of the lake of the same name. The history of the city began during the period of industrial development of the Urals in the XVIII century. On November 18, 1723, the Yekaterinburg Factory was built, and this date is considered the date of the founding of the city.
Today Yekaterinburg is the heart of the Urals, the country's largest cultural and machine—building center, the land of precious minerals, the capital of constructivism and the birthplace of the first president of Russia Boris Yeltsin.

Day 8 - Ekaterinburg. Cultural and educational center "Tsarsky", Temple on Blood, Ganina Yama

Excursion to the Cultural and educational center "Tsarsky" (Museum of the Holy royal family).
The museum contains objects that are associated with the Royal Family of Emperor Nicholas II. During the tour, you will visit the Patriarchal Hall, the Permanent Exhibition Hall and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
Visit to the Church on the Blood ("Church-on-the-Blood in the name of All the Saints who Shone Forth in the land of Russia").
It was on this spot that the house of engineer Nikolai Nikolaevich Ipatiev stood, where the last Russian emperor Nicholas II, his family and servants were shot.
The construction of the current temple began in 2000 according to the project of architects G.V. Mazaev, V.P. Morozov and V.Y. Grachev. The church was consecrated on the eve of the next anniversary of the tragic events — July 16, 2003.
The architectural complex includes the five-domed main temple, the patriarchal Courtyard and the Elizabeth Chapel.

Guided tour of the Monastery of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers in the Ganina Yama tract.
Ganina Pit is an abandoned iron mine. It was here that the bodies of members of the Royal Family and their servants were brought from the Ipatievsky House in Yekaterinburg in July 1918.
Today, a monastery has been built on the site of the mine in honor of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers.

I'm so glad I chose the 'Across the Expanses of Perm the Great' tour in July 2024. It was a high-quality, engaging, and thoughtfully designed journey through the entire Perm region. The trip was full of fascinating discoveries: ancient monasteries, unique museums, the distinctive Permian animal style and wooden deities, the history of salt production and the Stroganovs in the Urals, and much more. The natural beauty of Parma was breathtaking: dense forests, countless rivers, mountains, and even an ice cave. The hotels were comfortable, and the breakfasts and lunches were tasty, often featuring elements of local cuisine. Traveling in a small group made the experience even more enjoyable, after all, it's usually seasoned travelers who venture to the Perm region. One special moment was when we all got to bake and taste traditional gingerbread made from an old recipe, for many of us, it was a first.
