The beginning of the alloy.
We are going on a journey (15 km).
Our journey will begin near the village of Chernysheno. At the beginning of the XVIII century, Tsar Peter I granted it to Count James Bruce, a descendant of the Scottish kings. After his retirement, the count lived for a long time in his Chernyshensk estate, engaged in alchemical experiments.
The descendants of the count sold the village to Ivan Nikitich Skobelev. In 1844, after becoming a general of infantry, he built a stone church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a bell tower and a fence at the burial place of his wife Nadezhda Dmitrievna. During the Great Patriotic War, it was destroyed by the Germans.
To date, the temple has not been restored, only the walls and columns have been preserved. There is a version that at least two secret passages departed from the temple, one of which went to the river, the second stretched towards the manor garden (about 300 meters from the temple).
