Fiery Peaks of Kamchatka

This tour is for those who love outdoor activities and are ready for adventures. We are going to have three ascents to fiery Kamchatka mountains, two-day rafting and fishing, exciting excursions, sea trips, cosy chats sitting around a fire and, most likely, face-to-face meetings with brown bears.


  • walking excursion in the Avachinskaya Bay, including 6-hour walking excursion, fishing and seafood delicacies;
  • New Tolbachik fissure eruption which took place in 2012 – we will enjoy lava flows, lava caves, new cones, ash-covered fields, and “Dead Forest”;
  • excursion to the Mutnovsky Volcano crater.

    We will meet you at Elizovo airport.

    Checking-in at the hotel, rest and time for acclimation.

  • Day 2 - Ascent to Mutnovsky Volcano

  • Day 6 - Sea Trip and Transfer to Mutnovsky and Gorely Volcanoes

  • Day 8 - Northern Eruption of 1975, “Dead Forest” and Lava Caves

Any person, even a child, can do this excursion, since you will have enough time between ascents to rest and recover your strength.

  • Mutnovsky Volcano (2323 m) – South-Kamchatka Nature Park.

In this tour we normally accommodate our tourists in hotels in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and/or recreation area in Paratunka village (50 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky).

We offer fully equipped double rooms. Breakfasts at hotels are included to the tour cost.

  • Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky: “Petropavlovsk” Hotel, “Geyzer” Hotel  and others;
  • Paratunka: “Flamingo”, “BelKamTour”, “Krechet”, “Antarius” and others.

Paratunka Recreation Area is 50 km from Petropavlovsk and Elizovo. There are regular buses going to these cities. All hotels in Paratunka have open-air hot spring swimming pools, which have healing effects. Shops and cafés are within walking distance.

The exact hotel will be determined depending on the place of accommodation of other tourists and availability of free room numbers.

A tourist can order accommodation at his/her own option (if possible) with respective re-calculation of the tour cost. If you would like to be accommodated in a specific hotel, please, detail this in the booking form. In case of non-standard accommodation, an extra fee can be charged for individual transfer from/to the airport. 

Tourists travelling alone book the tour with an extra fee is charged for single occupancy. Sharing is possible, if a couple can be matched. No extra fee for single occupancy is charged in case of sharing.

Some hotels take deposits for room numbers. Such deposits are paid by tourists. All deposits are refunded upon checking-out. If you arrive/depart earlier/later than the tour dates, an extra fee can be charged for individual transfer from/to the airport.

  • Accommodation in Malki village: Holiday camp (double occupancy);
  • Accommodation on the route: tent camp – we provide TrampLair 2-person tents, Lair 3 (3-person) tents, and camping foam mats (sleeping pads).

  2. meals during your stay at the hotel (on the day of arrival, dinner on days 8, 11, lunch on days 12, 13).
  3. individual transfer (sooner or later than the dates of the tour);
  4. optional free day excursions (a helicopter excursion to Kurilskoye Lake or to the "Valley of Geysers").

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

You will need:

  • a climbing backpack (30-45 litres);
  • a sleeping back (with the comfort limit within the range from ‒5 to ‒10°c);
  • comfortable camping clothes;
  • trekking boots with hard grooved soles, which should be water-proof;
  • trekking poles;
  • sneakers;
  • a warm wind- and water-proof hooded coat; 
  • warm wind- and water-proof pants;
  • a warm sweater (fleece);
  • warm socks;
  • gloves or warm mittens;
  • a warm hat;
  • a panama hat;
  • a bathrobe and a swimming suit;
  • a seat to sit on stones and solidified ash;
  • trekking poles;
  • a headlamp;
  • an individual aid kit;
  • sunglasses;
  • sunscreens;
  • mosquito and midge repellents, and a mosquito net;
  • a photo- and video camera;
  • copies of all ID documents in a water-proof bag.

Please, pack your bags carefully (take warm clothes and shoes) since here and there on our climbing routes to volcano craters, mountain passes and volcanic plateaus we will see snow even in summer and, if bad weather persists for too long, the air temperature at 1000 m and higher may be low.
