Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Havus Island tour and cooking class

We recommend purchasing tickets for train No. 160B upon arrival in Sortavala at 08:22.

You will be met at the pier on the shore of Lake Ladoga, from where you will take motor boats to the island located in the very center of the Ladoga skerries (transfer along the lake in 10-15 minutes).

After the meeting in glamping, you will have a welcome breakfast and then an active program.

You will embark on an author's guided walking tour of Havus Island (duration 3 hours, length about 3 km).

The culmination of the route will be the exit to the Haukkariutta rock (fin. "falcon reef"). From a height of more than 40 meters you will have a wonderful view of the Ladoga skerries.

After climbing and walking, you will return to glamping and have a delicious lunch in nature around a campfire with gifts from the earth. During lunch, the chef of the famous restaurant of high Karelian cuisine will prepare for you a hearty mushroom soup with moose meat.

After lunch, you will have free time to take a short walk, relax in the dome or sit quietly by the fireplace.

Next, you will have a master class on making semolina mousse, a traditional recipe of Karelian cuisine. You will learn about the ancient technology of this dessert, try to cook it yourself "the old-fashioned way", and for dinner our chefs will serve you this dessert in a modern interpretation.

After an active day, you will receive a guide's story about Karelian traditions, including gastronomic ones. Next, you will have dinner with dishes with elements of Karelian cuisine.

If desired, and for an additional fee, you can relax in the furako sauna right on the shore of Lake Ladoga or in the Russian sauna with panoramic views of Ladoga.

Due to weather conditions, the days may change places in the program.
