The main square of the city is the heart of Kostroma, its calling card is the Susaninskaya Square, popularly called the "frying pan".

Around the perimeter of the square are the most elegant and representative buildings of the late 19th century classicism era: the Borshchov house, the provincial offices, the guardhouse, the fire tower — the best fire tower in the Russian province is in the northern part of the square, and on the opposite side, on the site of the old auction, there are about 15 stone rows.

The largest are the Red Rows with the Church of the Savior built into them and the Large Flour Rows.

And for the first time, a century later, the revived golden dome of the bell tower of the Assumption Cathedral of the former Kostroma Kremlin rises.

An extensive exposition on the world history of cheese making is presented in the ancient merchant's mansion of the end of the XVIII century (Reschikov house).

On the banks of the Kostroma River, on Ostrovsky Street, there is an unusual "Fairy Tale House" that attracts the attention of residents and guests of our city with its magical view.

At the entrance to this fabulous house, you will be greeted by a friendly "Bear Bear" offering to plunge into the land of magic and mysterious adventures of the Forest Wonderland Museum.

Hall 1.

The forest is nature's storehouse. The first hall of the museum opens to your view — the nature storeroom.

It is here that the idea of forest treasures is formed: an entertaining story is told about the healing and magical properties of trees.

There is an introduction to the ancient crafts that flourish in our God-forsaken land. These include wood carving, willow twig weaving, and artistic forging.

Hall 2.

The world of forest tales. Continuing our acquaintance with the world of the royal forest, we plunge into the atmosphere of forest myths, legends, tall tales.

The intertwined branches of the miracle forest eagerly welcome guests and, like enchanters, envelop, fascinate and beckon to themselves.

Here lives the Lord of the Stumps, the Ever-Turning Stump, the Goblin, stands Baba Yaga's hut.

Forest birds and animals accompany you throughout the entire forest journey.

Hall 3.

The magic of natural materials and metals. In this hall, the characters of Slavic myths and legends come to life in metal. Kikimora, Vodyanoi, bizarre butterflies, dragonflies and ants — all this is the creation of the skillful hands of Kostroma blacksmiths.

The combinations of natural materials delight and surprise.

Snow Maiden's cave.

Bayun the cat and his brownie assistants will show the house where the Snow Maiden and her fairy—tale friends live, tell about miracles, Berendeyev legends and traditions.

You will see a puppet tale about the Snow Maiden and, most importantly, you will get to know the Snow Maiden herself - you will touch the ancient tale of the Snow Maiden with your soul.

The end of the program is approximately at 18:00.

Thematic excursion "Where moose live" to the Sumarokovsky moose sanctuary.

Not far from Kostroma, the Sumarokovskaya moose farm is located in a picturesque location.

No cages — you will be amazed at the friendly atmosphere of the reserve, you will see how the animals are taken care of.

Treat the younger moose calves to carrots and even be able to pet and take pictures with the most curious.

You will have a close conversation not only with moose and moose calves, but also with the farm staff. They will tell you a lot of amazing facts: how and why moose come to this farm, which moose is the most beautiful for a male, why all moose calves here have a human mother, whom they recognize even when they grow up, and why moose cannot be tamed.

The residence is located in the very center of the city.

In addition to the Snow Maiden, the Academicians of the Snow Wonders live here. Everyone who gets here becomes a student of the Snow Wonders Academy.

According to the kindest fairy tales, the Snow Maiden gathered teachers: the professor of the game is the Main One who understands all fairy—tale issues, the Clever One, the postman of the Snow Maiden is the Messenger and the mischievous jack—of—all—trades is the Skorenka.

In the Room of Wonders, the Snow Maiden has collected a whole collection of fabulous improbabilities: only here you can touch the top of the Christmas tree at any time of the year, find yourself in the kindest fairy tales and feel like their hero, try on colorful outfits and transform into a wizard.

After traveling through the Room of Wonders, you will find yourself on the edge of a real Russian forest, in the atmosphere of changing seasons.
