Itinerary

Day 1 - Walk through the city center, cheese Museum, Ipatievsky Monastery
The most optimal, easiest and fastest way to get to Kostroma is the new comfort class train "Swallow", it follows from Moscow (Yaroslavsky railway station) for 4 hours, arriving in the morning at 10:32 in Kostroma at the Kostroma Novaya station.

The first stop is the Ipatievsky Monastery, the cradle of the Romanovs, a tour of the monastery.

Next, we will head to Susaninsky Square, where we will get acquainted with its main character, Ivan Susanin.
We will visit the Epiphany-Anastasia Monastery and the Kostroma shrine – the icon of the Fedorovskaya Mother of God.
Let's go down the Milk Mountain, take a walk along the embankment of the city, because we cannot do without the great Volga River. And then we will walk through Ostrovsky's gazebo and head to the cheese museum, where you will have a tasting of Kostroma cheeses with a glass of whatever you choose.
We will begin to get acquainted with theatrical Kostroma with the museum of theatrical costume of the Kostroma Drama Theater named after Ostrovsky, which stores stage costumes, elements of scenery, props and props.
In total, the museum presents more than a hundred costumes, including those sewn from rare fabrics of the early 20th century according to all the canons of fashionable styles of that bygone era. They reflect the audience's repertoire preferences. According to them, as according to a history textbook, you can study not only the chronicle of Kostroma drama, but also the Russian theater. But the most amazing thing is that this rare collection has been preserved.

Day 2 - Shchelykovo and Nikolo-Berezhki
After a hearty breakfast, we will leave at 09:00 and return to Kostroma by 17:15, so if you have an evening "Swallow", take your things from the hotel with you.

Ostrovsky created a Russian play. Kustodiev founded his own unique genre in painting. Let's see what kind of magical places these are, where great works of Russian literature and painting were born.
Here we will walk along the alleys of the century-old park with the hope of meeting fairy-tale characters. Endless ladders, bridges, forest paths, streams and manicured ponds will involve you in a mysterious quest.
Let's take a walk to the blue key of the Snow Maiden, which does not freeze even in winter, where, according to legend, the fairy-tale heroine of the playwright Ostrovsky melted.
We will visit places that the playwright himself compared to "the best places in Switzerland and Italy." Ostrovsky lived in the manor, coming for the summer. Here he worked on the plays "Thunderstorm" and "Penniless." Mighty nature, colorful peasants, festive festivities, folk tales, songs and legends influenced A. N. Ostrovsky's idea of creating the fairy tale "The Snow Maiden".
You will visit the house where the atmosphere of the last years of the playwright's life is recreated. There are genuine items here – personal belongings of Alexander Nikolaevich and his family.
We will visit the village of Nikolo Berezhki, look into the peasant's house and the ancient church where A. N. Ostrovsky himself loved to visit, talk over the old samovar and learn a lot about the traditions of Russian tea drinking. The hostess of the hut will treat you to fragrant tea with herbs and talk to you about life.
