Alagir gorge and Tsey (Alagir gorge — Tsey — aul Nar).
Moving along the Military Ossetian road in the Alagir gorge, on the right in the direction of movement, an extraordinary sculptural composition attracts attention. This is Nykhas Uastyrdzhi, as they call him in Ossetia.
It is a dzuar — a holy place. The sculpture is attached to a rock and weighs 28 tons! The sanctuary and the rock monument of Uastyrdzhi. In the Ossetian tradition, George the Victorious is named after Uastyrji, who is also one of the main characters of the Nart epic.
Uastyrji is the patron saint of men, travelers and warriors. The monument is considered one of the largest equestrian monuments in the world.
On the way, we will make a stop at the cave and the sanctuary of Sau Baraga (the Black Horseman). The place and the very image of the Black Horseman are shrouded in many legends and beliefs that we have to learn.
From Transkam we will turn to the Tsey Gorge, or Tsey horseshoe. The gorge has been sacred to Ossetians for many centuries: the most iconic places of worship and places of power are located here.
In the Tsey gorge there is one of the most famous historical and religious buildings — the ancient Alanian sanctuary of the River. The entire Tsey Gorge is a state reserve, and the figure of the patron saint of Afsati at the entrance symbolizes protection for everyone living in this beautiful corner of the Caucasus.
Mount Monk is the motionless and stern guardian of Cei. According to legend, the monk decided to catch a tour with golden horns and present his horns as a gift to St. George, but he did not keep his word and was turned to stone.
Lunch (extra charge).
We will take a chairlift to the Skazsky glacier (for an additional fee: ~ 300 rubles per person), see the ice grotto, from where the Skazdon River rapidly breaks out, enjoy the views of the mountain element.
Moving further along the Transkam into the depths of mountainous Ossetia, we head to the high—mountain village of Nar - the birthplace of Kosta Khetagurov, the founder of the literary Ossetian language: "The whole world is my temple. Love is my sacred thing. The universe is my fatherland."
Zaramagskaya HPP is a unique high—altitude hydroelectric power station in terms of design. The best viewing platforms will allow you to admire the beauty of nature and the blue surface of the reservoir framed by mountain peaks.
On the way back, we will listen to a story about the Nuzala Chapel, a monument of history and architecture of medieval Alanya, which has not yet revealed all its secrets to us. On the way back, we will visit the Nuzala Chapel, a monument of the history and architecture of medieval Alanya, which has not yet revealed all its secrets to us.
On the way to Vladikavkaz, we will stop at the piercing obelisk of the Gazdanov Brothers, Dzuarikau village, to pay tribute to the memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War.
Check-in at the recreation center in Biragzang at the thermal spring "Therma-Ganakh".
Biragzang is an open—air hot pool in the mountains. The water in the spring comes from the depths themselves. Healing properties help to cure many diseases.
The history of the source is not much different from other similar reservoirs. In the last century, drilling specialists arrived in the village to search for oil, but when a well was drilled, a healing liquid flowed out of it instead of oil.
Dinner (extra charge).
