A soulful sightseeing tour will also introduce you to the flavor of ancient Ryazan. From the Kremlin to modern buildings, we will go through nine centuries of development of the city and remember the outstanding residents, funny legends and important discoveries made by our countrymen.

In the old days, Ryazan residents were called "half—witted people" and "squint-bellied" - do you know how these definitions were born? How does Ryazan differ from other famous Russian cities? 

Evaluate the main sights of Ryazan, and also hear how Ryazan mushrooms got eyes, what the people of Ryazan lived and live, as they were called in the old days and what famous people visited our region.

A tour of the Ryazan Kremlin.

For more than IX centuries, ancient Ryazan, beautiful and unique, has stood in the center of the Russian land. A city with a rich history, which our guides like to share with the guests of our excursions. 

We will drive through the main streets of the city, see the sights, admire its fabulous New Year decorations.

The Ryazan Kremlin, traditional and cozy, is the main historical decoration of the city. The magnificent ensemble is located on a high bank at the confluence of the Lybed River with the Trubezh River, in ancient times it was protected by high walls and an earthen rampart, part of which can still be seen today. 

Here you can walk for hours, admiring and listening to the stories of our guides, sipping hot mulled wine. In winter, the Palace ensemble of the Ryazan Kremlin is carefully covered with a snow blanket. 

The beautiful Cathedral bell tower, the grandiose Assumption Cathedral, the elegant Cathedral of the Nativity, the unique Church of the Holy Spirit — everything impresses with beauty!

Visit to the Museum of the History of the Ryazan lollipop (optional, for an additional fee). 

Here you will learn the history of sugar, Ryazan region and lollipop. How is it all connected? When, if not on New Year's weekend, to listen to stories about a sweet miracle?! It turns out that the familiar lollipop cockerel on a stick was born in Ryazan. 

Ryazan entrepreneur Nikolai Petrovich Shishkov created an exemplary beet sugar enterprise in 1829, studied the properties of sugar, received several patents (and he was also a hero of the war of 1812 and a member of the commission preparing documents for the abolition of serfdom). 

And why the lollipop got the shape of a cockerel — you will find out in the museum!

Departure to Konstantinovo — the homeland of the poet S.A. Yesenin, a travel excursion.

In the center of the village of Konstantinovo, opposite the church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the Yesenins' estate is located. Here, in 1871, the poet's grandfather Nikita Osipovich Yesenin built a house where Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin was born on September 21 (October 3 — new style), 1895. 

Over time, the dilapidated grandfather's house was demolished, and a new, smaller one was built in its place in 1909. In 1965, the house-museum of the famous Russian poet was opened in this "golden log hut". Over time, a whole complex of memorial buildings appeared in Konstantinov — the S.A. Yesenin State Museum-Reserve. But his heart still remains his parents' house, restored in 2000.

An excursion to the Literary Museum introduces visitors to the creative biography of Sergei Yesenin, gives them the opportunity to witness the events of the turning point during which the poet lived. 

The exhibition will feature photographs of S.A. Yesenin from different years, his lifetime and posthumous publications, and personal belongings of the poet.

Next to the church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God is the estate of the last Konstantinovskaya landowner Lidia Ivanovna Kashina. Sergei Yesenin met the owner of the estate in the summer of 1916. At that time, he was already the author of his first poetry collection, Radunitsa. Visiting L. Kashina S. Yesenin visited more than once and dedicated one of his poems to her — "Green Hairstyle". 

After the revolution, the landowner's country house was used for the needs of the village, and in October 1969 a literary exposition was opened in it. By the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth, in 1995, the building housed the museum of the poem "Anna Snegina", which embodied both the image of the "house with a mezzanine" and the image of its owner.

Route: visit to six expositions — The Estate of S.A. Yesenin's parents, the Zemstvo School, the Estate of L.I. Kashina (the Museum of the poem "Anna Snegina"), the Priest's House of I.Ya Smirnov, the Literary Museum, the Carriage Yard (without the Savior Klepikov Teacher's School and the School of Literacy).

In your free time, you can visit the church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God on your own, where the poet's parents were married and little Seryozha Yesenin was baptized.

Transfer to Poshupovo village.

One cannot leave these blessed places without visiting the St. John the Theologian Monastery in the village of Poshupovo.

The monastery originated in the late XII or early XIII century and was founded by Greek missionary monks who brought with them the miraculous icon of the Apostle John, painted in the VI century in Byzantium by an orphan boy. This image became the main shrine of the Theological monastery. 

The village of Konstantinovo is a monastery compound and little Seryozha Yesenin was brought here by his grandmother to serve.
