Located on a steep bank, where the Lybed River flows into the Trubezh River, this symbolic center attracts the gaze of travelers with high fortress walls and a massive earthen rampart offering a charming view of the surrounding area.
An external inspection of the beautiful Assumption Cathedral, erected by the great national architect Yakov Bukhvostov, is particularly admirable.
This temple is a real pearl of Russian art of the 17th century, made in the style of "Naryshkin Baroque", impresses with exquisite decoration and delightful sharp stone patterns.
