Transfer to Chaplygin.
Chaplygin is a small town located on the border of the Lipetsk and Ryazan regions. It is almost 400 years old. Like many settlements, Chaplygin was once named quite differently - Oranienburg. This is how Tsar Peter I named the small fortress he built to protect the southern borders of Russia.
Visit to the house-museum of A.D.Menshikov.
Once there was the Peter and Paul Monastery, founded with the money of Prince Menshikov. This building, like the entire Oranienburg fortress, once belonged to Peter's all-powerful favorite and friend, and he spent some time here on his way to exile in Siberia, from which he never returned.
Transfer to the village of Lev Tolstoy.

The local station was once called Astapovo, and 100 years ago it was renamed Lev Tolstoy. The last week of the writer's life passed here. There is now a memorial museum at the station, plus carefully restored buildings around it. It's just like then.

Next, we will head to the village of Maslovka, lost among groves and open fields, to visit a Russian cheese maker. The creator of Maslov cheeses speaks French fluently and is in love with the picturesque Lipetsk land without looking back.
Thanks to the knowledge of hereditary Corsican cheese makers and the hardworking hands of Russian farmers, the master creates delicious cheeses that even the French ambassador appreciated.
