The continuation of our route through Ryazan, the capital of the New Year, will be a walking tour along the Ryazan version of Arbat — Pochtovaya Street and Sobornaya Street.
These places are full of vivid stories of the past, among which the building of the first city cinema and the house of the founder of the world-famous cosmetics empire Maximilian Faktorovich deserve special attention. His life and work have become an example of success and inspiration for many generations.
But the highlight of our walk is definitely a visit to the Ryazan Kremlin, which is stunning in its scale and history. Located on a steep bank, where the Lybed River flows into the Trubezh River, this symbolic center attracts the gaze of travelers with high fortress walls and a massive earthen rampart offering a charming view of the surrounding area.
An external inspection of the beautiful Assumption Cathedral, erected by the great national architect Yakov Bukhvostov, is particularly admired. This temple is a real pearl of Russian art of the 17th century, made in the style of "Naryshkin Baroque", impresses with exquisite decoration and delightful sharp stone patterns.
