It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

On our excursions, you do not need to take bulky equipment with you — tents, sleeping bags and heavy backpacks! We provide you with hot meals and overnight accommodation in comfortable urban conditions, however, something is worth taking with you:

  1. Shoes — trekking or mountain boots. In any case, shoes should be comfortable, sit well on tightly knitted socks and be sure to fix the ankle. The sock should be protected by thick leather or a plastic insert. The sole should have a good grip on the surface and be wear-resistant. It is desirable that the shoes have good vapor permeability and water repellent properties. New shoes should be delivered before the start of the hike!
  2. Trekking socks. We highly recommend taking at least two pairs of trekking thick socks with you. They are much better than the usual ones, if not, then take thick—knit socks.
  3. Outerwear. The weather in the Khibiny is very changeable, so you need a waterproof jacket, preferably made of membrane fabric, a fleece / warm jumper and tight hiking pants. In June and July, there are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the Khibiny, so thick outerwear will protect you from insects.
  4. A small backpack with a rain cape. A large backpack is not needed, for a maximum of 20 liters, please note that the backpack should fit: jacket, fleece, photo and video equipment, thermos and lunch box, personal hygiene products, and those samples of rocks and minerals that you will collect during the tour.
  5. Personal care products, sunglasses and medicines that are necessary for you.
  6. It is better to take a thermos with you if you prefer not to drink water from mountain rivers and streams.
  7. A seat (hob) is a piece of meerschaum mat with an elastic band that allows you to sit comfortably on the stones.
  8. We recommend that you take a comfortable headdress with you — it will protect you from the sun, rain and midges.
  9. Insect repellents. There is a mosquito in the Khibiny from June to the end of July, in the mountains it is blown away by the wind, and yet you may need a repellent.
  10. A small soft hermo bag will also protect video equipment during possible rain.
  11. A personal first aid kit containing the medicines you need, especially if you have chronic diseases, allergies, intolerance to anything and personal preferences!
  12. If you prefer to walk in the mountains with sticks, we recommend taking them with you.

Everything else depends on your desires and capabilities.

We do not recommend taking with you: saws, axes, gas burners, lanterns, etc. — they will not be useful to you. But smartphones, tablets, cameras and video cameras and chargers will be very useful to them!
