Itinerary

Day 1 - Man-Pupu-Ner – Otorten – Dyatlov Pass
08:00 Arrival at the helipad in Nyagan (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra).
Waiting for the weather report from the dispatchers and the crew for loading. Weighing. Group briefing.
09:30 Loading of personal equipment into the helicopter. Boarding. Takeoff.
Flight to the plateau on Manpupuner (Komi Republic). The approximate flight duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Along the way, you can watch the West Siberian marshes through the porthole, as well as the Ob River.
With prior agreement with the group, in order to get to know the local residents of the Ural Taiga, an additional landing is possible in the taiga Mansi peninsula, the campsite of the Sambindalov Sankling-Ya Yurts, located near Lake Turvat.
Depending on the clouds, natural phenomena, wind direction and speed, the flight can take place at an altitude of 50 to 1,500 meters.
11:30 Man-Pupu-Ner Plateau tour.
Arrival and landing at the helicopter pad of the Pechora-Ilych Nature Reserve on the Manpupuner plateau.
The helicopter waits for the group on the plateau for 2 hours.
From the Jaeger hut, tourists will have to walk several hundred meters to the pillars along paths made of crushed stone. To preserve the upper soil cover, the reserve has equipped these special paths and it is allowed to move around the plateau only along these equipped trails.

Movement along the plateau, visiting and inspecting stone pillars is regulated by the reserve and is carried out only along paths made of crushed stone specially equipped by the reserve.
The nearby mountain ranges and the Belt Stone of the Main Ural Range are clearly visible from the observation decks.
The time spent on the Manpupuner plateau is limited: no more than 2 hours.
13:30-14:00 Lunch and rest. A delicious lunch is provided for the group in the gazebo near the hunters' hut.
14:00 Flight to Dyatlov Pass.
The duration of the flight in the south direction is about 30 minutes, the flight distance is 65 km.
Flying between the Man-Pupuner plateau and the Dyatlov Pass, participants will be able to observe one of the most beautiful mountains in the Northern Urals from the portholes - Mount Otorten with the Black Gate arch located on it and the amazing Lunthusaptur mountain lake lying on the slopes of the mountain, as well as see the source of the Lozva River, which originates from this mountain lake.
With prior agreement with the group, an additional landing is possible at the top of Mount Otorten, which is one of the inaccessible and harsh peaks of the Northern Urals, the ultimate destination of Igor Dyatlov's group's route.
14:50 Landing at Dyatlov Pass.
From the slopes of Mount Holat-Syahyl, the tour guide will show the main locations where the tragic events took place: the location of the cedar, the location of the warehouse organized by the group before entering the radial route, the place of the flooring where the bodies of the dead were found.
At the pass, the expedition participants can form their own versions of the event, suggest what exactly could have happened to the group of Dyatlovites, and see with their own eyes Mount Holat-Chakhl and Dyatlov Pass, a place that has gained worldwide fame.
The time allotted for the excursion part at the Dyatlov Pass is from 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on the weather situation). There is free time at the remains with a memorial stele, in the area of which the helicopter lands.
16:30 Flight to the mountain river. The flight time to the third landing is approximately 30 minutes.
17:00 The group landed in a clearing near the bank of the Vizhai River, where the village of Tokhta used to be located, where currently only non-residential buildings remain.
The group is quickly unloaded, and travelers are greeted by an instructor-guide, as well as a chef who arrived at Tokhta in advance.
A mobile bivouac camp has been set up on the shore for the arrival of tourists, which consists of comfortable residential tents, as well as a mess hall where the participants of the trip can gather at one festive table.
A gala dinner is organized in honor of travelers, consisting of fine restaurant dishes, the table is served with various specialties of the Ural and hunting and fishing cuisine.
After dinner and a hot bath, free time is provided for the participants of the trip to do individual evening activities, rest, prepare for an overnight stay and sleep.

Day 2 - Tokhta village — pebble spit of the Vizhai River

The bivouac camp was located in the upper reaches of the Yalpyng-ya River, at the confluence of the two Tokhta and Vizhai rivers.
09:00-10:30 Camp assembly, packing personal belongings in waterproof bags, collecting general equipment.
The distribution of equipment and products across catamarans, the strapping of things, and the distribution of travel participants are proportional to the load on each catamaran.
Optimal location: 4 people on one 4-seater catamaran and 6 people on one 6-seater catamaran;

The beginning of rafting on the Vijay River.
Participants begin rafting almost from the very upper reaches, even higher, the Vizhai and Tokhta flow in mountain valleys with narrow bottoms and gentle slopes overgrown with coniferous and mixed forests, and full-fledged active rafting begins at their confluence.
Five kilometers above Tokhta, the Anchug River flows into Vizhai from the right, at the mouth of which fishermen have the opportunity to catch mountain Siberian grayling.
11:00 Rafting on the Vijay River.
During the rafting, you can stop in front of the rocks near the pools and fish. Grayling, burbot, and pike and perch are found in Vizhai. If fishing is successful, the chef will prepare a signature fish dish "sashimi on a paddle", and will also treat all participants of the trip with pickles from the home cellar or cook a real fish soup from the northern fish of the mountain river.
14:00-15:00 Lunch.
During the lunch break, fishermen can try their luck fishing for grayling. This fish can be caught by spinning, float fishing rod or fly fishing.
By the end of the first day of rafting, magnificent rocks will begin to appear among the taiga shores of Vizhai, closer to the uninhabited village of Verkhny Vizhai. The Mansiysk river Vizhai and its grandiose cliffs, so often concentrated and located on an extremely small stretch of the river, have a huge global tourism potential of the highest level.
At 18:00, the group, together with instructors and guides, begins searching for a place to stop for the night and organize a camp.
There are no settlements, equipped or spontaneous parking along the banks of the Vijay. This river flows in an absolutely wild and inaccessible area. Only occasionally you can meet fishermen here.
The group members participate in the installation of the camp, set up their own tents, and relax after rafting, enjoying the silence, solitude, and pristine wilderness of the wild taiga region.
20:00 Hot gourmet dinner in honor of the first day of rafting.
Recreation (at the general request of the team, a mobile sauna is heated, fuel — dry firewood and driftwood — is collected collectively).
If the weather is right, fishermen have a good opportunity to fish grayling in the evening.
Evening fishing for grayling and other predatory fish during active feeding is an exciting and productive event. From the catch, the chef can prepare delicious fish dishes such as ear, sashimi, sogudai, he, zharekha or cutlets, depending on the preferences of the participants.

Day 3 - Continuation of the rafting. Pebble spit — Golden Gate of Vizhaya — Parking at the Taiga cave
07:30 Early rising, morning individual tasks, collecting personal belongings.

09:00-10:00 Camp assembly, packing of personal belongings in waterproof bags, collecting bivouac camps and general equipment.
Distribution of equipment and products on catamarans, strapping of things, brief briefing.
After passing a brief safety briefing, the participants are evenly distributed on the catamarans and the rafting part of the trip continues.
The current day's rafting takes place in the most picturesque places of the river.
During the rafting, there are stops on the route for rest, photo shoots, lunch and swimming in the river.
If desired, those who are fond of fishing will also have the opportunity to fish in places that fishermen find promising.
Short-term parking is provided at intervals of 1.5-2 hours. Stops on the banks of the river are also provided in order to be able to inspect the rocks.
12:00 Continuation of rafting on the river.
14:00-15:00 Intermediate camp with a bonfire for lunch.
After lunch, the group makes a stop to do a small mountain trekking and climb a cliff called the Golden Gate of Vijaya. This rock, which consists of two arches with a diameter of about 4 meters, is covered with Mansi legends. This place is also considered an anomaly.
From the top of the Golden Gate (about 80 meters high) It offers a stunning view of the Vijay River. The Mansi shamans noticed the Vizhai karst arch, located in the lower reaches and having the status of a sacred place in Mansi, even before the arrival of the Russian people in the Urals.
The Royal Gate is a large arch in a rock with a diameter of four meters with two through caves. These huge empty eye sockets are located on top of a cliff rising straight out of the water. The diameter of the gate opening is more than 4 m with a thickness of about 1.5 m.
The Mansi believe that the arch is of artificial origin and was built for shamanic rituals. According to their version, the arch was created artificially in place of the energy portal, so that under certain conditions it would be possible to pass through it from the real world to the otherworldly world of spirits.
According to local beliefs, no one except shamans is allowed to pass through the Golden Gate. In more ancient times, this prohibition was strictly observed, local hunters were afraid to approach the stone arch.
After visiting the Golden Arch, the rafting continues for a distance of about 2 kilometers.
In the radial exit, travelers will be able to see the entrance to the cave, located in a very little explored and remote caving area, unique, with great potential for exploration, which will bring many surprises in the future. Cave research has great scientific value.
Bones of the most ancient animals have been found in caves. There are rock outcrops rich in the remains of fossil organisms — prints of leaves of ancient plants, remains of shells of the most ancient animals — trilobites, shells of mollusks.
18:00-19:00 The group arrives at the parking place in a clearing located in the immediate vicinity of the trail to the cave.
Together with the instructor and the chef, the team members set up a bivouac camp: they set up a tent, personal tents, are engaged in landscaping the campsite, collectively collect fuel for a campfire, dry firewood for a night party.
21:00 Dinner. The chef's presentation of exquisite taiga northern dishes, according to the menu offered by the group.

Day 4 - Rafting from the Taiga cave to the village of Vizhai. Transfer to Yekaterinburg
Early rising, morning individual tasks, collecting personal belongings.

Raspberry and honeysuckle bushes are scattered around the bivouac camp, organized on the left bank of the Vizhai, and there are also a lot of strawberries along the banks and in the taiga more often. Sometimes you can see fresh tracks of a bear here, obviously coming here to feast on berries.
08:00-09:30 Camp assembly, packing of personal belongings, strapping of catamarans, preparations for rafting. On this day, the rafting trip ends with the passage of the 10-15 km long finish section of the river.
09:30 Short briefing on water behavior and catamaran management.
Continuation of rafting on the Vizhai River to the confluence with the Lozva River.
On this day, the team overcomes the darkest section of the Vizhai River. In addition to the rocks on the shores, there are hectares of burnt taiga. Terrible forest fires raged here in August 2010 due to the heat wave.
There are also many banks reinforced with logs on this section of the river. They were reinforced by prisoners of the IVDELLAG, so that during the moly rafting of the forest, the logs would not be washed up to the shore and pushed onto it.
During the rafting process, travelers may notice that very rare karst phenomena occur on the river, when almost all the water from the riverbed goes underground, exposing the bottom for a kilometer. Karst also explains the fact that in winter, even in the most severe frosts, 12 kilometers from the mouth of the confluence with Lozva, the Vizhai River never freezes.
According to Mansi legends, a giant dragon lives here under the ground of Vijaya, which drinks the river. And indeed there are places where a powerful stream of Vizhai water breaks down somewhere between the rocks.
In fact, the water flows into the caves. There is a whole complex of caves in the area of Vijaya. These caves were discovered recently and have hardly been explored. The caves have complex ramifications and they are located directly under the river.
12:00-13:00 Arrival at the end of the water part of the trip.
Rafting on the Vizhai River ends in the village of the same name, also called Vizhai. Here the Vizhai River flows into the Lozva River.
Upon arrival at the shore, the participants unload the catamarans, transfer their personal belongings to a bus waiting for them on the base, organized for further transportation, unpack their bags, and change into personal clothes suitable for moving.
There will be a day transfer from the village of Vizhaya to the city of Yekaterinburg. The transfer distance to Yekaterinburg is 620 km. The approximate travel time is 10-12 hours.
13:30-14:00 A small lunch is provided before departure from Vijaya.
After lunch, travelers load up their personal belongings and get into a comfortable minibus or cars and set off for the city of Yekaterinburg.
