Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Novgorod. Theatrical New Year's excursion program
Arrival in Novgorod (we meet the train from Moscow 07:06 №42 and St. Petersburg 10:36 №7001).
Meeting with the guide at the railway station at the main entrance from the platform.
Guaranteed hotel accommodation at 14:00. Morning check-in if possible.
You can leave your belongings free of charge in the luggage room of the hotel.

11:30 Theatrical New Year's excursion program "Chronicles of the ancient city with the Novgorod posadnik" (posadnitsa), animated tour of the old town with the Novgorod posadnik (posadnitsa) in historical costume: You will visit the Ancient Torg, the Kremlin, and the monument of the Millennium of Russia, St. Sophia Cathedral (1045-1050).
The Russian national relic, the miraculous icon "The Sign of the Mother of God", is kept here.
Excursion to the residence of the Novgorod lords. The Faceted Chamber is the treasury of Veliky Novgorod.
Visit to the Vladyka and Crusade Chambers — jewelry art of the VI-XIX centuries. There are more than 200 exhibits, among them there are masterpieces of world significance and all famous techniques known in medieval art are represented.
Guided tour "The history of Novgorod from ancient times to the present day": a rich world of ancient objects (handicrafts, weapons, jewelry, musical instruments, chess, children's toys, masks) dating back to the Neolithic and late Middle Ages.
The program lasts 3 hours.
Free time — preparation for the banquet.

Day 2 - City Sightseeing Tour
Late breakfast.
Sightseeing tour of the city.
On the bus tour you will learn the history of Veliky Novgorod.
Drive through the streets of the Sofia and Trade sides, visit the old town and the Yaroslav's Courtyard complex (ancient Torg).
There you will hear what the Novgorod veche was about, why there are so many temples on the territory of the Auction and where the princely court of Yaroslav the Wise was located (1.5 hour program).
Day 3 - Excursion "To the source of the Volkhov". Fabulous New Year's Eve
Breakfast.
Check-out time at the hotel is 12:00 (things in the luggage room).
An excursion with a visit to the Perynsky skete, the Yuriev monastery.
During the tour "To the source of the Volkhov" you will be able to admire the water surface of Ilmen Lake, see the endless northern plain, where the Rurikovo hillfort, the Perynsky hermitage, and the Church of the Savior on Nereditsa have become an integral part of the historical landscape.

We invite you to an exciting journey through Russian fairy tales, in which you will meet your favorite characters from childhood.

I really enjoyed the excursions. The guides’ stories were fascinating and rich in historical detail. We learned a lot about Russia’s history and were very pleased overall.
