The birthplace of Ilya Muromets

Take a walk around Murom, visit the Trinity Convent, where the relics of Peter and Fevronia rest, and see the monument to Ilya Muromets.

Wonderful Diveevo

Visit the major spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy – Diveevo, where you will have a tour of the Serafimo-Diveevsky monastery and an inspection of the existing temples.

Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Murom. Shrovetide festivities
06:45 Gathering of the group in Moscow: VDNKh metro station, parking lot to the right of the Kosmos Hotel.
07:00 Departure to Murom.
Murom is the most ancient city of the Vladimir region, it was mentioned in the "Tale of Bygone Years" back in 862! Murom is a city of white—stone monasteries, merchant houses of the 19th century and the birthplace of the epic hero Ilya Muromets.
Lunch at a cafe in the city.
Murom City Sightseeing Tour:
Trinity Convent, where the relics of Peter and Fevronia, the patrons of love and marriage, rest.;
Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery: the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "The Quick-Hearer";
Annunciation Monastery (self-guided tour);
The monument to Ilya Muromets is one of the most notable sights of Murom.
Shrovetide festivities in Murom are a great reason to spend Mother Winter and celebrate Spring!

Day 2 - Diveevo. Completion of the tour

Transfer to Diveevo village.
Diveevo is a village famous all over the world. This is the fourth lot of the Mother of God on earth, the only place in Russia that is under her special protection.
Guided tour of the Serafimo-Diveevsky Monastery, named after Seraphim of Sarov, who took care of this monastery.
Inspection of existing temples:
Trinity Cathedral: the holy relics of St. Seraphim, the miraculous icon of "Tenderness";
Transfiguration Cathedral: relics of St. Martha of Diveevo, relics of Blessed Paraskeva;
Kazan Church: relics of Saints Alexandra, Martha, and Elena;
The Holy Groove of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the greatest Diveevo and universal shrine in the world. The Priest spoke about the grace bestowed by the Holy Groove: "Whoever goes through the Groove with prayer, and reads a hundred and fifty "Theotokos", it's all here: Mount Athos, Jerusalem, and Kiev."
Visit to Diveevo Holy springs.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.

I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot more about my country and its history, and visited many historic cities and monasteries. It’s an experience I will remember for a long time.
