Kalyazin is an ancient Russian city on the Volga with a complicated history, popularly called the "Tver Atlantis".
The city is unique and very distinctive, famous for its flooded bell tower of St. Nicholas Cathedral, towering over the surface of the water.
Sightseeing tour of the city of Kalyazin.

sightseeing of the ensembles of the Vvedenskaya, Bogoyavlenskaya and Voznesenskaya churches, the monument to the founder of Kalyazin - Makariy Kalyazinsky and many other attractions.

Uglich is one of the oldest cities in Russia, famous for its beautiful examples of Russian architecture and unique monuments of nature and architecture.

Musical and entertainment program "Broad Maslenitsa" on the territory of the Museum of Urban Life.

You will walk with a guide through the halls of the museum, where you will meet a wag waiter offering a variety of goods, a gypsy woman guessing at great fortune, and participate in the Russian dance "Lady". You will learn how the Uglich people's way of life was organized in the 19th century, hear an old Russian romance, learn about the folk customs and traditions of the Uglich region.

A tea party with pancakes accompanied by gypsy songs and dances awaits in the museum's tea room.
In conclusion, together with the artists of the museum, you will dance around an elegant Maslenitsa Woman to cheerful music and taste hot sbiten!

The Uglich Kremlin is the historical and urban core of the city:
Tsarevich Dimitri's chambers ("chambers of the Uglich appanage princes") is the only building preserved from the foundation of the Kremlin (building of the 15th century);
The Church of Dmitry on the Blood was built on the site of the death of Tsarevich Dmitry. Inside are murals by artists of the late 18th century describing this event in detail;
The Transfiguration Cathedral is the cathedral of the city of Uglich, located in the center of the Kremlin.

Myshkin is the smallest city in the Yaroslavl region, ancient, sincere, original, which has preserved the ancient merchant buildings and a special provincial charm. The city was famous for its blacksmiths and potters.
Myshkin owes his origin to a mouse that woke up the sleeping prince at the moment when he was about to be bitten by a snake.
According to Russian tradition, the prince built a chapel for the glory of his salvation, around which the city grew.
Excursion program in Myshkin:
Alley of Glory, Assumption Cathedral, Volzhskaya embankment;
"To the mice at the old mill" (visit to merchant Chistov's mill, inspection of mill mechanisms with the exhibition "Barn Mice");

Transfer to the village of Martynovo.
Martynovo is the "capital" of the ancient Katsky camp. In the far west of the Yaroslavl region, a small, 57 km long Kadka River flows. The inhabitants inhabiting its shores are called katskars. These are Russian people who have their own peculiarities in customs, language and folklore.
Visit to the Katskare Museum (a peasant hut of the late 19th century).
The guide will introduce you to local myths and legends, the life and way of life of peasant cossacks of the XIX-XX centuries. Here, all things have been living in their places since 1910, surrounded by Katsky folklore, Katsky myths and the Katsky dialect.
Carnival festivities. In the program:
an ancient Katsky custom: burning old unnecessary things in a Pancake bonfire;
funny katsky fun.
The whole action takes place under the accompaniment of harmony with the participation of the mummers: Baba Mani and Grandfather Egor. And the performer of the most original ditto will receive a prize from the hands of the mummers. For the sake of snowdrifting on the street, a cup of local liqueur is offered.
Lunch from a Russian oven: cabbage soup with sour cream, stewed potatoes, pickles, pies, melted milk, tea.
Departure to Moscow.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.
