Day 1 - Sightseeing tour of Pereslavl-Zalessky. Visit to Berendey's Terem with an interactive excursion program

09:00 Departure to Pereslavl Zalessky.
Sightseeing tour of Pereslavl-Zalessky, the birthplace of Alexander Nevsky and the cradle of the Russian Navy with access to Red Square.

The heart of Pereslavl is Red Square.
Those who, upon learning about this, exclaim: "As in Moscow!", will only be mistaken in the direction. This is the main square of Moscow, which got its name several centuries later in imitation of Pereslavskaya!
A living confirmation of local antiquity is the Transfiguration Cathedral, founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152. This is the oldest building in northeastern Russia that has survived to the present day.
The names of almost all the grand dukes and tsars of Russia are associated with Pereslavl.
Perhaps the most famous native of Pereslavl is Alexander Nevsky, who was born and reigned here. Grateful descendants built the most beautiful Alexander Nevsky Church in honor of the amazing national hero prince and erected a majestic monument that you will definitely see.

Day 2 - Sightseeing tour of Yaroslavl. Yaroslavl meal
09:00-11:00 Brunch.
Sightseeing tour of Yaroslavl, the "Capital of the Golden Ring", which will introduce you to the history of the thousand-year-old city and its modern way of life.
You will see the arrow of the Volga and Kotorosli rivers – the place where Yaroslavl began.
Take a walk along the picturesque Volga embankment, explore the Assumption Cathedral, recreated for the 1000th anniversary of the city.
Admire the unique architectural ensemble of the central part of Yaroslavl (under UNESCO protection) and its pearls – churches of the 17th century (one of which is the Church of Elijah the Prophet).
You will listen to stories about the first Russian theater, walk along the streets where the heroes of famous Soviet and Russian films walked.
Guided tour of the territory of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery (12th century), an urban dominant with impregnable stone walls, which is sometimes popularly called the "Yaroslavl Kremlin". It was here that in the XVIII century a handwritten list of the masterpiece of ancient Russian literature "The Word about Igor's Regiment" was discovered.
Lunch at the Russian Cuisine Gallery "Maslenitsa Residence".
You will have lunch in the best traditions of the Yaroslavl Meal at the Maslenitsa Residence Gallery of Russian Cuisine in the historical center of the city.
The residence is part of a unique chopped city, recreated according to drawings and preserved film materials from 1913, which was built in honor of the last visit of the imperial family and Tsar Nicholas II to Yaroslavl.
The menu sounds like music melting on the tongue.:
sauerkraut stewed cabbage soup with pearl barley and pork;
the most delicate Yaroslavsky pike cutlets with baked potatoes and creamy mushroom sauce;
salad with boiled veal, baked eggplant, pepper in a spicy sauce.

Day 3 - Rostov the Great. Theatrical program "Christmas reception at the merchants of Sense" in the Rostov gingerbread. Completion of the tour

Rostov is not called Great for nothing, because its mentions date back to 862 in the chronicles. The serene Lake Nero, strict and elegant monasteries, quiet streets and the majestic Kremlin help to break away from the hustle and bustle and touch the formation of Russia and Orthodoxy, to turn over the pages of chronicles and history textbooks live.
Visit to the Rostov Kremlin (architecture).
Surrounded by powerful walls with towers, it looks like the Kremlin, an ancient Russian princely fortress, but in reality it has long been the Bishop's Court, the residence of Rostov bishops and metropolitans.

Visit to the museum-estate of the Leontiev noblemen "Voronino".
Voronino is one of the few relatively preserved estates in the Rostov region.
It is located about 20 kilometers southwest of Rostov on a hilly plain, surrounded by forests. From the middle of the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century, these lands were in the patrimonial and local possession of the Leontiev nobles.
Sergei Alexandrovich Leontiev, a direct descendant of the Leontiev nobles, restored the estate, turning it into a real "oasis" of living history in a few years: a manor house, an ancient ancestral crypt with graves of the XVI century, cascading ponds, a bell tower and an inn.
Guided tour of the estate through the ancient alleys of the French parterre and English parks.
You will get acquainted with a wonderful monument of landscape art, amazing nature and ensembles of the Estate. Every corner of it is associated with legends and romantic stories about the family life of the Leontiev nobles, covered with ancient myths and legends.
The excursion program "Who are you, Russian greyhound?", where you will find a story about the history and development of a unique breed of dogs, the opportunity to take pictures with them.

Many thanks to “Big Country” for this wonderful tour. The entire trip was organized exceptionally well: the hotels, meals, and transportation were all excellent. But the real highlight of the journey was our tour guide, Denis!!! Honestly, without him the trip would not have been nearly as memorable. Visiting so many churches and historical sites without meaningful context would have quickly become monotonous. Most of the local guides simply rushed through the program with dry facts and dates, almost like a school lecture. Denis, however, made everything come alive. Even before we arrived at each destination, he was already sharing fascinating stories and background information on the bus, which helped us appreciate the places so much more once we got there. Not a single person was late for the bus in the mornings! Everyone was eager not to miss his stories!!! He has an incredible knowledge of the history and geography of the region, and he could make even the scenery outside the window interesting!!! Listening to him never felt tiring because he spoke with such enthusiasm and passion!!! For the last two days we had a different guide, and the contrast was huge - unfortunately, it just wasn’t engaging at all. To sum it up: excellent organization, comfortable travel conditions, and an outstanding guide like Denis made this trip truly special!!! I only wish there were more professionals like him.

I really enjoyed the trip. I learned a lot more about my country and its history, and visited many historic cities and monasteries. It’s an experience I will remember for a long time.
