Itinerary

Day 1 - Chirkeyskoye reservoir and Sulak Canyon
Gathering of the group at the airport of Makhachkala. The recommended arrival time is before 12:00.

First, we will go to admire the waters of the Chirkeysky reservoir, the largest in the entire North Caucasus. This reservoir was formed on the Sulak River as a result of the construction of the Chirkeyskaya HPP.
Next, our way lies to the village of Dubki, it is here that a wonderful view of the Sulak Canyon opens.
Boating on the Chirkeysky reservoir will charge us with positive emotions and give us amazing impressions (for an additional fee).
Freshly caught trout fried on coals to a crisp will be served for lunch. (It is possible to replace the main course on request).
We will visit one of the most interesting places in Dagestan – the Nokhyo cave complex (for an additional fee), where the caves are united by a suspension bridge located on a hill above the Sulak River, on both sides of which there are viewing platforms from where unimaginable views open.

Day 2 - Gamsutl and Gunib
Breakfast at the hotel.
Today we have to travel to mountainous Dagestan and get acquainted with the traditions of the Avar people.
Gamsutl is the famous abandoned village of Dagestan, located at an altitude of almost 1,500 meters above sea level. It is full of legends and tall tales, and among the cluster of deserted houses of the "Dagestan Machu Picchu" only the wind and brave tourists wandering here walk. Rocky mountains, man-made terraces and the traditional architecture of the village will immerse us in the special atmosphere of the way of life of the highlanders.
At lunch, we will try the national dishes of the Avars: hinkal, botishal and apricot porridge.
Next, we will visit the village of Gunib, whose history is inextricably linked with the name of Imam Shamil and the end of the Caucasian War. The Museum of Local Lore will introduce us to the history of the village and the way of life of its inhabitants. Maximum immersion in culture can be achieved by trying on the traditional costumes of the peoples of Dagestan from the museum's collection.
After a day full of history and natural beauty of the Gunib district, we return to the hotel.

Day 3 - Derbent
Breakfast at the hotel. Room release.
We will spend the last day of our tour in Derbent, the southernmost and most ancient city in Russia.
A visit to the citadel of Naryn-Kala will reveal to us the ancient history of the fortress, which for hundreds of years protected the city from the invasion of nomads. Preserved for posterity, it is a symbol of courage and invincibility of the peoples of the Caucasus.
Next, we will walk through the streets of the Old City and visit the Juma Mosque, built in 733. We will plunge into the culture of the southern peoples of Dagestan and feel the oriental flavor of Derbent.
The gift shop included in the program will allow you to purchase gifts for yourself and your loved ones in memory of Dagestan. Traditional crafts of the peoples, tea and sweets are presented here.
We conclude our trip with a feast in the ethnodome with dishes of South Dagestan cuisine: dolma, pilaf, chudu and tea drinking.
Group transfer to the airport and railway station of Makhachkala upon departure. The recommended departure time is after 18:00.
