Itinerary

Day 1 - Mineral waters — Terskol — Terskol waterfall — Terskol
Accommodation: hotel.
Bus: 180 km.
On foot: 10 km light, climb 700 m.
Meals: -.
Meeting place and time of the group: at 10.00 a.m. at Mineralnye Vody airport or at the railway station.
We get into a comfortable minibus and drive to the village of Terskol (180 km).
We'll stop at a cafe on the way.
Arrival in the village, accommodation at the hotel.
A walk through the Terskol gorge to the waterfall of the same name will not leave anyone indifferent.
We will walk through a fabulous mountain valley and enjoy the smell of blooming mountain herbs.
And after climbing to the powerful Terskol waterfall, we will return to the village.
We'll go to a cafe for dinner in the evening.
An information briefing and briefing are waiting for us at the guest house.

Day 2 - Terskol village — Devichy Kosy Waterfall — Terskol Observatory — Terskol village
Accommodation: hotel.
Walking distance: 12 km, climb 1000 m.
Meals: breakfast.
After getting up early and having a hearty breakfast, we will go to the radial exit to the Terskol Peak Observatory, which is located at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea level.
We take a small assault backpack with us, where you can put a thermos, a raincoat, a camera and a warm jacket.
On the way, we will visit the beautiful waterfall Devichye Kosy — a mountain stream flowing over a cliff and falling from a height of 30 meters.
The bravest can take a contrasting alpine shower!
Return to the hotel.

Day 3 - Terskol village — Cheget glade — Cheget Mountain
Accommodation: hotel.
On foot: 12 km light, climb 1200 m.
Meals: breakfast.
The next radial exit awaits us — to Cheget Mountain.
This time we will climb to an altitude of 3,400 meters above sea level.
On the way, we will practice walking and breathing techniques in the mountains.
We will also visit the famous Ai cafe, the first high—altitude cafe in the Soviet Union, where Yuri Vizbor often liked to visit, where they prepare the most delicious khichin — flatbreads with potatoes and cheese or meat and serve sea buckthorn tea.
Along the way, we will discover picturesque panoramas of the mighty Elbrus and the Seven Glacier, so named for its characteristic shape.
Attention! We strongly recommend that you take tickets for the chairlift before climbing down.
This will save us some time, effort and our knees, which we will definitely need.
The ticket price (summer 2023) is 900 rubles.
Day 4 - Polyana Azau — Mir — skaly station of the Ministry of Emergency Situations
Terskol — polyana Azau — Mir station (by cable car) — rocks of the Ministry of Emergency Situations — Mir — Polyana Azau station (by cable car) — Terskol.
Accommodation: hotel.
Bus: 9 km.
On foot: 4 km light, climb 900 m.
Meals: breakfast.
In the morning, we will take a bus to Azau glade and climb the pendulum cable car to a height of 3,500 m, after which we will make the transition to the rocks of the Ministry of Emergency Situations — to a height of 4,400 m.
We will climb the slope of Mount Elbrus, and behind us there will be a magnificent panorama of the Greater Caucasus Range.
Let's learn how to walk and breathe properly at altitude.
In the evening, we will go back down to the Azau clearing and return to the hotel.

Day 5 - Terskol — polyana Azau — Garabashi station — shelter 11 — Pastukhov rocks
Accommodation: mountain shelter.
Bus: 9 km.
On foot: 10 km light, climb 900 m.
Meals: breakfast, snack lunch, dinner.
With all the equipment, we will climb to the highest cable car station in Europe — Garabashi (3,850 m).
Here we will load our belongings into a snow truck, and we will walk light to our mountain shelter at an altitude of 4,100 m.
We will stay in a mountain shelter, have a snack, after which we will have a control acclimatization exit to an altitude of 4800-5000, depending on the condition of the group and weather conditions.
In the evening we cook dinner, spend the night at the shelter.

Day 6 - Day of rest
Accommodation: Mountain shelter
Meals: breakfast, snack lunch, dinner
A day of rest before the assault.
We will conduct a snow and ice training session, where we will get to know the equipment better, practice walking in cats and learn how to properly self-hold with an ice axe.
Today we will go to bed as early as possible, because tomorrow is the long—awaited summit assault.
Later in the evening, we prepare a late lunch, an overnight stay at the shelter.

Day 7 - Storming the top
Accommodation: hotel.
On foot: 15 km light, climb 1,500 m.
Meals: breakfast, snack lunch.
The night ascent is approximately at 00:00 local time.
Today is the most important day — the day of the summit assault.
We've been waiting and preparing for this for a long time, and now it's here.
Having refreshed ourselves as much as possible and checked our equipment, we will start.
By the light of a lantern, we slowly but surely begin to climb.
Watching the dawn at an altitude of almost 5,000 m, you realize that it is indescribable, you experience a new taste for life, you are charged with emotions and forces that you will need today more than ever in your life.
And now, the long-awaited peak!
After taking memorable pictures, we immediately go down, because the weather in the mountains is very unpredictable.
After picking up our things from the shelter and having a bite to eat, we will take the snowmobile down to the cable car and go to the hotel.
In the evening, we will have a gala dinner in a cafe with awards and souvenirs.

Day 8 - Spare day
Accommodation: mountain shelter / hotel.

A spare day in case of bad weather.
If we do not need a spare day, we can walk to the Donguz Orun mountain lake and/or to the Narzan glade.

It's important to know

Equipment:

a backpack of 80-100 liters (either a large trunk, a huge bag or a giant suitcase, provided that things are dropped off at the shelter on a snowmobile);
A 30-liter backpack with a stick or ice tool attachment system (for radial exits and for assault);
rain cover on a backpack;
sleeping bag (comfort temperature 0-+5);
mustache self-insurance+2 carabiners with a clutch (can be rented from us);
climbing cats (can be rented from us);
ice axe (you can rent it from us);
safety system (can be rented from us);
trekking poles (you can rent from us);
hoba (foam pad, tourist seat).

Clothing and shoes:

mountain boots (can be rented on site) or high boots for hard trekking with ankle fixation;
gaiters (flashlights);
sports sandals;
windbreaker jacket (windproof, it is also waterproof, a membrane is better, at least 10000/10000);
windproof/moisture-proof pants (membrane);
down jacket (warm jacket), a jacket that is very warm, but takes up little space and weight;
