Elbrus. Climbing from the South

The hike will take almost the whole day.

Two hours after the exit, we will find ourselves at the waterfall Maiden Spit 2700 meters.

Continuing the ascent along the dirt road, we will climb to the observatory "Peak Terskol", an altitude of 3100 meters.

Excellent viewpoint on Elbrus, Cheget, Donguz-Orun. There is a long rest, lunch and descent to the hotel.

In the evening, a lecture on safety in the mountains.

Acclimatization ascent, the ascent takes place first along a trail in a pine forest, then along a dirt road among alpine meadows and along a rocky ridge trail.

We will make rest stops along the way, there is a cafe with excellent pies and tea made from sea buckthorn and barberry at the cable car station.

We go down a dirt road or by cable car (the descent by cable car is not included in the price).

The height of the Cheget is 3461 m, the climb is 1400 m, the duration of the ascent is 5-6 hours, the descent is 3 hours.

After dinner, classes: you will learn how to tie basic climbing knots and learn how to insure your partner on routes.

Transfer to the Adyl-Su gorge, where there are rocks for beginners to practice.

You will gain skills in belaying, moving along railings using a jumar, rope descent, and climbing simple routes.

Get acquainted with reliable modern climbing equipment and learn how to use it. The duration of the training is 4-5 hours.

In the afternoon, prepare for the ascent to the high-altitude area.

From the Azau glade, we will take the new cable car up to the Gara-Bashi station, height 3850 m.

We are settling into the National Park shelter, which is optimal in terms of comfort and location on Elbrus.

Near the MTS tower and Megafon 4G, electricity around the clock, heaters in 4-bed rooms, separate kitchens and dining rooms.

We go out on the glacier and learn to walk in cats, climb up to the beginning of the rocky ridge, the location of the former Eleven Shelter.

The journey up takes about 1 hour, down 30 minutes.

The main acclimatization exit. There is already a check on how you have internalized the recommendations and instructions of the guides on walking and breathing techniques.

The climb to the Pastukhov rocks is 4700 meters, the minimum task, it is advisable to climb to the "abandoned snowmobile", the height is 4950 meters, with good weather and well-being of the participants.

We go light, with only hot tea, energy food and a warm jacket in our backpack. This day will show how ready we are to climb.

The duration of the ascent is 4-6 hours, the descent takes ~ 2 hours.

A day of rest before the summit assault.

In the morning, a walk combined with snow and ice classes. We'll work out how to use an ice axe, rope, and how to walk in bundles.

On this day, before 13:00, each of you must decide how the assault will take place: on foot from the shelter or with a lift on a snowmobile (for an additional fee of 8000 rubles. up, 12,000 rubles. down) to the height of 5100 and only then on foot.

Climbing time:

• 3900-5642 in 9-12 hours;
• 5100-5642 in 4-6 hours;

Descent:

• 5642-5100 in 2 hours;
• 5642-3900 in 3-4 hours.

We collect backpacks and climbing equipment. We go to bed early.

The time limit for the summit assault is from 20 to 23 hours.

Depending on the weather forecast and the time of departure of part of the group on a snow truck, the entire group should be on the route compactly, without a large time gap for safety reasons.

Sunrise at an altitude of 5,000 meters is unforgettable!

After climbing, most of the time, we manage to go down to the shelter and go down to the hotel before the cable car closes.

Dropping off a group or part of a group on a snow truck (not included in the price).

If the weather is good and the ascent has already been made, you can arrange an excursion to the Chegem waterfalls, thermal springs or horseback riding (excursions are charged separately).

You can just relax, stroll through the local souvenir markets, visit the Narzanov Glade or the Terskol Waterfall.

The tour ends, the participants are awarded numbered headlight badges and branded certificates of perfect ascent. Tired, but full of impressions and happy, we go to the Ministry of Water.

Transfer at 9:00-11:00 by agreement with the group.
