Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Snowmobile safari on the island of Riekkalansaari and the surrounding area

    08:20 Meeting at the station in Sortavaly. 

    Transfer to the country complex "Berry Village", which is located on two islands of Lake Ladoga separated by the strait, breakfast.

    09:00 is the recommended time of arrival at the country complex "Berry Village".

    An exciting snowmobile route around the island of Riekkalansaari and the surrounding area awaits you (double occupancy on a snowmobile, drivers require category B license). Before the start, you will listen to a safety briefing and pick up snowmobile equipment.

    10:00 The beginning of the snowmobile route.

    Riekkalansaari Island is the largest island of the Ladoga skerries with a unique nature: cliffs with gloomy gorges, long plains covered with forests, swamps and meadows. 

    The route of average difficulty takes about 6 hours, it is desirable for drivers to have experience driving a snowmobile or ATV in off-road conditions.

    On the way, a real winter picnic lunch will be organized for you. Try the dishes of Karelian cuisine, warm up with hot tea.

    After the end of the route, you will return to the country complex "Berry village". A delicious dinner will be waiting for you at the base.

    You will have free time in the evening. 

    If desired, you can visit the furako sauna on the shore of the strait (for an additional fee), rent skis, snowshoes and other equipment for active pastime (for an additional fee) or relax in the rooms.

    You will spend the night in cozy houses with all the amenities in the room.

The tour involves accommodation in the country complex "Berry village" on the shore of the strait between the islands of Onttolansaari and Riekkalansaari.

The cost of the tour for 1 person with double accommodation on a snowmobile and double accommodation in a house is 48,000 rubles / person.

The surcharge for single occupancy in the house is 10,000 rubles/person (optional).

The surcharge for a single snowmobile landing is 16,000 rubles/person (optional).

Country complex "Berry village" 1 night

You will live in the country complex "Berry Village" on the shore of the strait between the islands of Onttolansaari and Riekkalansaari. 

On the territory of the complex there are:

  • a restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served for you according to the program above
  • inside there is a dining and tea area (hot and cold water, tea, coffee, sweets are always freely available), as well as a relaxation area with a fireplace and board games;
  • 30 cozy houses, with a capacity of 2 people. Each of them has transformer beds – all single beds, which can be combined if desired – with bed linen and towels, a terrace, a wardrobe, as well as sockets, a private bathroom and a mini-refrigerator;
  • Furako bathhouse on the shore of the strait – heated open wooden font;
  • Russian bathhouse;
  • campfire area with seating;
  • private parking.

It's important to know

Personal equipment you need for the tour

Based on the experience of winter tours, we ask you to carefully prepare for the trip. 

Be sure to take with you:

  • hygienic lipstick;
  • a greasy face cream. Frost cream "Morozko" (sold at the pharmacy);
  • the hat;
  • a scarf and warm gloves or mittens are mandatory, even if you don't wear them in everyday life;
  • the higher the shoes, the better, dutiki, valenki;
  • a warm tracksuit (optional ski suit) or separately pants and a jacket;
  • the socks are high and some are at least woolen. 

We do not recommend riding in sneakers, heeled boots, jeans, fur coats and thin/cold jackets.

It will be cooler for the passenger on the way, so it's worth dressing warmly.
