Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Manaraga Shelter. Arrival

    8:00 General gathering of the group at the squadron site.

    Waiting for the command to load the board, as a rule, does not take long, but delays are likely due to the morning fog in the mountains.

    If there is flying weather in the mountains, the group waits for the pilot's command to load, the expedition members are mobile loaded onto a helicopter and fly to the mountains of the Northern Urals.

    Morning. Arrival at the helipad in Nyagan (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug).

    Waiting for dispatchers and crew team reports on loading.

    Briefing, informing about the rules of conduct on board for a safe flight.

    Loading equipment and groceries into the helicopter.

    Boarding.

    Takeoff. Flight across the Ural Ridge to the Republic of Komi Republic to the territory of the Yugyd Va National Park.

    The flight duration is about 2 hours.

    Day. Arrival and boarding in the valley of the Kosyu River at the foot of Mount Manaraga at the site of the Manaraga Hostel shelter.

    It is mandatory for each member of the group to obtain an official permit to visit the territory of the Yugyd Va National Park for the duration of their stay in the mountains.

    After the group has fully disembarked, the helicopter leaves the disembarkation and unloading point.

    Upon arrival, the group members are accommodated at the location of the mountain shelter-hostel.

    The guide informs the tour participants about the terrain, climate, and travel options depending on the season and weather conditions.

    Travelers, by prior arrangement, are accommodated in the guest house of the shelter, or in self-contained tents (depending on the season) on the territory of the tourist camp.

    On the territory adjacent to the guest house of the shelter, there is a gazebo, a fire pit, and a toilet. A few meters from the house there is the Kosyu River and the Morenniy stream, where a mobile sauna is being installed collectively.

    The chef is busy setting up a field kitchen, installing mobile dining tables, or using the internal dining room, preparing a hot dinner over a campfire, according to the list of dishes on the selected menu.

    A hot lunch on the set dining table (in the expedition outdoor tent) is served by 14:00.

    If the departure from the squadron site is delayed due to weather conditions, it is possible to adjust the lunch and dinner time.

    Free time for the expedition participants, adaptation to the mountainous conditions of the Circumpolar Urals, rest from the flight, communication of the expedition participants.

    Satellite communication with civilization.

    Afternoon. For active participants of the trip, there is a short-term radial exit 5-7 km to the upper reaches of the Morennyi Stream for the purpose of photo shoots against the backdrop of Mount Manaragi and the tourist shelter located at the foot of it.

    Evening. For the rest of the group staying at the shelter, free time and rest are provided by the Kosyu River.

    Adaptation to the mountainous conditions of the Circumpolar Urals, rest from the flight, communication of the expedition participants around the campfire.

    21:00. A festive feast. A hot gourmet dinner from the chef.

    Communication of the group members. Discussion of planned future routes.

    It is possible to adjust the route lines based on the current weather situation in the mountains.

    Lights out at 23:00. Rest.

    Overnight at the Manaraga Tourist shelter in the valley of the Kosyu River. The circumpolar Urals. The western slope of the Ural mountain range. The Komi Republic.

    The expedition participants rest in the Manaraga shelter house or, optionally, in their own or club tents, sleeping on tourist mats in insulated sleeping bags.

    Walking (trekking) from the Manaraga shelter to the panorama from Morennyi Creek and back is 10-14 km.

You will find a complete lack of civilization, a river with rapids 2-4 KC, rugged and mountainous terrain and overcoming difficulties. 

Stress tolerance, the ability to work in a team, and the absence of medical contraindications for physical exertion are necessary.

  5. Hand and face cream against chapping, hygienic lipstick (if necessary).

  8. An LED headlamp and a couple of spare sets of batteries.
  9. Photo and video equipment (if available).
  10. Folding pocket knife (or hunting belt knife) (optional, optional).
  11. A SIM card with roaming service and debit balance for calls to civilization.
