Day 1 - Manaraga Shelter. Arrival
8:00 General gathering of the group at the squadron site.
Waiting for the command to load the board, as a rule, does not take long, but delays are likely due to the morning fog in the mountains.
If there is flying weather in the mountains, the group waits for the pilot's command to load, the expedition members are mobile loaded onto a helicopter and fly to the mountains of the Northern Urals.
Morning. Arrival at the helipad in Nyagan (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug).

Briefing, informing about the rules of conduct on board for a safe flight.

Boarding.
Takeoff. Flight across the Ural Ridge to the Republic of Komi Republic to the territory of the Yugyd Va National Park.
The flight duration is about 2 hours.
Day. Arrival and boarding in the valley of the Kosyu River at the foot of Mount Manaraga at the site of the Manaraga Hostel shelter.
It is mandatory for each member of the group to obtain an official permit to visit the territory of the Yugyd Va National Park for the duration of their stay in the mountains.
After the group has fully disembarked, the helicopter leaves the disembarkation and unloading point.
Upon arrival, the group members are accommodated at the location of the mountain shelter-hostel.
The guide informs the tour participants about the terrain, climate, and travel options depending on the season and weather conditions.
Travelers, by prior arrangement, are accommodated in the guest house of the shelter, or in self-contained tents (depending on the season) on the territory of the tourist camp.
On the territory adjacent to the guest house of the shelter, there is a gazebo, a fire pit, and a toilet. A few meters from the house there is the Kosyu River and the Morenniy stream, where a mobile sauna is being installed collectively.
The chef is busy setting up a field kitchen, installing mobile dining tables, or using the internal dining room, preparing a hot dinner over a campfire, according to the list of dishes on the selected menu.
A hot lunch on the set dining table (in the expedition outdoor tent) is served by 14:00.
If the departure from the squadron site is delayed due to weather conditions, it is possible to adjust the lunch and dinner time.
Free time for the expedition participants, adaptation to the mountainous conditions of the Circumpolar Urals, rest from the flight, communication of the expedition participants.
Satellite communication with civilization.
Afternoon. For active participants of the trip, there is a short-term radial exit 5-7 km to the upper reaches of the Morennyi Stream for the purpose of photo shoots against the backdrop of Mount Manaragi and the tourist shelter located at the foot of it.
Evening. For the rest of the group staying at the shelter, free time and rest are provided by the Kosyu River.
Adaptation to the mountainous conditions of the Circumpolar Urals, rest from the flight, communication of the expedition participants around the campfire.
21:00. A festive feast. A hot gourmet dinner from the chef.
Communication of the group members. Discussion of planned future routes.
It is possible to adjust the route lines based on the current weather situation in the mountains.

The expedition participants rest in the Manaraga shelter house or, optionally, in their own or club tents, sleeping on tourist mats in insulated sleeping bags.
Walking (trekking) from the Manaraga shelter to the panorama from Morennyi Creek and back is 10-14 km.

Day 2 - Climbing Manaragu

If the weather is suitable for climbing, the group gathers for a one—day hike in the mountains.
The Circumpolar Urals are characterized by an unpredictable climate. If the day starts on a fine morning and grace pours from the sky — golden, hot, and the crystal of the river rings merrily on the ripples, then the tour participants are preparing for a trip to the mountains.
09:00 For the main part of the group, there is a radial exit towards Mount Manaraga with an ascent to the Studenchesky Pass.
Traveling in the mountains, you can take breathtaking pictures of mountain landscapes that will attract and inspire. The participants of the trip can see this for themselves by studying the pictures of the mountain landscapes of the planned route.
There are many climbing routes at the foot of Manaragi, among which there are suitable options for beginners, and some of them do not require special equipment in summer.
But there are some quite difficult ones — well-trained climbers will be able to master them.
During the trip, a radial one-day exit to Manaraga is recommended from the western side to the mane of the spur of the main mountain. The height of the Manaragi is 1,663 meters, the shape of the mountain is a strongly dissected ridge with 7 large peaks, teeth and teeth "gendarmes".
From a close distance, the top looks like a fortress wall with towers arranged like an amphitheater.
For a long time, Manaraga was considered the highest (1,662 m) among the Ural Mountains, until the championship was assigned to nearby Narodnaya Mountain.
The main route of climbing Manaragu is climbing the right "finger" of the bear's paw, but to climb to the highest point (the second "claw" on the right) you need to have special skills and climbing equipment.
The climb to the top of Manaragi is complicated by the terrain: this is a grandiose pile of kurums and stones, sometimes half the height of a man, on which it is difficult to walk and jump; in addition, climbing the battlements requires climbing equipment and experience, this is a risky undertaking, and climbing this route is provided only to the Studenchesky pass.
Hiking on steep rocky slopes in dry weather is not easy, and in the rain the lichen gets wet and becomes worse than soap, so traveling to climb mountains is possible only if the weather is right.
To travel through the mountain kurums, you need special trekking shoes, a hiking raincoat in case of rain or thunderstorms, as well as windproof windbreaker and trousers made of windproof material.
The ascent and descent are quite steep, the legs get very tired. For the descent, it is additionally recommended to have trekking poles to maintain balance when moving through a pile of stone placers and boulders.
Every 40 minutes of walking, the team stops for short pauses of 5-10 minutes in order to regain strength.
14:00 Stop for lunch and a snack.
For the group members who have devoted their entire day to radial travel, the chef will pre-prepare and distribute a personal lunch to the lunch boxes.
A chef with a restaurant kitchen and mobile tents is permanently located on the territory adjacent to the Manaraga shelter on the banks of the Kosyu River and is in standby mode for the main group to continue a short-term one-day trip of the tour participants.
Those who want to relax and enjoy the nature of the Circumpolar Urals without radial exits stay at the shelter throughout the day and rest permanently in the valley of the mountain river and enjoy the surrounding views.
There are almost no mosquitoes, crystal clear water nearby, small bushes and dried grass, which is enough for a bonfire for dinner. The sharp, slightly snowy peaks of the mountains, the green carpet of the forest tundra, the sonorous and nimble flow of the Manaragi and Kosyu rivers. And the bright blue sky.

Day 3 - Mountains, lakes and waterfalls

On the third day, a "day trip" is provided for the participants of the tour — a break from a long trip of the previous day.
A mobile sauna with a poshekhonka furnace and an expansion tank for heating and supplying hot water is being installed on the spit of the Kosyu River.
The bathhouse is heated for a long time, long enough for the stones that cover the mobile furnace to warm up.
11:00 During the preparation of lunch / dinner and a sauna, in suitable weather, a trekking radial exit to the upper reaches of the Morenniy Stream is provided for the participants of the tour in order to visit picturesque waterfalls up to 6 m high and photo shoots against the backdrop of the highest Ural ranges, alpine landscapes and Mount Manaraga.
For the most experienced and persistent travelers who decide to go on a trekking trip to the kilometer-long ridges, the old dream of seeing the Ural Range in all its harsh beauty, in all its pristine wildness, will finally come true.
Having climbed the ridge opposite from the Bear's Paw, on a sunny day you will see a Manaraga gray with snow, dazzlingly beautiful and at the same time sinister, like any too beautiful woman.
The views to the west are beautiful, where the Belfry Mountain massif is located.
When there is no sun, when clouds press on the mountains and a crazy wind scours the mountains and taiga, immeasurable sadness falls on the earth, and the mountains and forest around us become even more severe.
The duration of the radial access to the mountains is from 6 to 9 km in one direction.
The hardiest participants of the trip can visit a group of unnamed mountain lakes located in mountain circuses at an altitude of more than 800 m above sea level.
Upon returning to the inpatient camp of the Manaraga shelter, the travelers had a hot, measured lunch/dinner.
In the afternoon, the guide and the chef present on the tour organize a sauna on the riverbank with dips in the cold river water.

Day 4 - Overnight trip in the mountains

Depending on the preparation of the group, a 3-day trip to the foot of Narodnaya Mountain is possible with setting up a mobile tent camp and camping on the banks of the Manaragi River.
Trekking participants carry their personal and general equipment (sleeping bags, tents, and other personal items) on their own.
The club's equipment includes individual ultralight inflatable packrafts (mobile kayaks used for combined long-distance hikes) designed for rafting on the river during the return trip to the shelter, as well as tents for organizing a night rest in the mountains.
Trekking poles and trekking shoes are required for cross-country travel, as well as a hiking raincoat in case of rain or thunderstorms.
The group travels over rough terrain only during daylight hours.
The participants of the trip spend one night outside the Manaragi shelter, staying in a tent camp in the upper reaches of the Manaragi River.
Each participant in the radial exit has an army food package (Dry ration ration — individual ration) of canned or freeze-dried products and dried meat.
The duration of the daytime trekking trip is 8-12 hours of measured movement with short stops for rest and photo shoots and an hour-long lunch break.
An intermediate camp with a bonfire for lunch is provided at the Deer Creek from 14:00 to 15:00.
For active participants of the trip, it is recommended to climb up the Deer Creek — make a small radial exit to a high unnamed waterfall, admire the views, take memorable photos, and there is a well-trodden stream path underfoot.
The stream leads to a beautiful waterfall with several cascades.
There are three beautiful alpine lakes in the upper reaches of the Deer Creek.
Across the pass, 1.5 km from the lakes, is the glacier "Manaraga".
In the mountainous circumpolar area, you can find partridges, reindeer, hares and other inhabitants of the Circumpolar Urals.
To the east of Mount Manaragi, a Research Ridge stretches from south to north.
After 19:00 (the first running day).
Depending on the general level of training of the group, the participants of the trip independently determine the distance of the day's journey, organize a night mobile camp around the campfire, and have dinner.
At the end of daylight hours, the group stays overnight in a mobile radial tent camp.
The mobile camp is set up collectively, by the general staff of the team.
Gas burners and cylinders with gas as fuel are used to heat food.
A hot, balanced diet and freshly brewed drinks (tea and coffee) are necessary for the body to quickly recover its strength in field conditions.
The length of the two-day trekking trip is 15-25 km.

Day 5 - Return trip and rafting on the Manaraga River
The next day's return trip, after breakfast and gathering a tent camp, travelers will have to cross by rafting to the Kosyu River along its tributary, the Manaraga River.
The group begins preparing watercraft for rafting on a mountainous, stormy river that originates high in the mountains.
Depending on the time of the season and the water level in the river, rafting can be technically difficult, each participant of the rafting must take these circumstances into account and have a good physical condition and an appropriate level of training.
Rafting on packraft is a pleasure.
In the upper reaches, the Manaraga is very capricious: narrow, steeply sloping, with a lot of stones in the channel, with sharp turns — a real mountain river.
The distance from the Oleniy Stream to the Kosyu River is a dangerous section of the Manaragi River, 6 km of rafting along the Manaragi, these are complex 3X shivers with the main decoration — the 5X Deer Threshold, stretching for half a kilometer.
Participants cover the entire distance covered in a day trekking trip (12-20 km) by rafting, and in difficult sections of the river they practice guiding watercraft along a towpath.
With the general desire of the group and the appropriate level of training, the tour participants have the opportunity to extend the trip for another, third day and visit the highest peak of the Urals — Mount Narodnaya, a considerable distance, up to 20 km (additional third day of hiking) additional trekking with climbing to the top of the highest mountain in the Urals.
From Narodnaya Mountain, enjoy the most beautiful views of mountain ranges and natural landscapes, valleys of northern rivers and lakes of the Circumpolar Urals.
It offers stunning views of the main peaks of the Circumpolar Urals — Mount Horseshoe, the Karpinsogo ridge, the Saber and Pyramid Mountains, Mount Manaragu, Manciner Peak, Mount Bell Tower.
After 19:00 (the second running day), return to the Manaraga Shelter, a place of stationary camp.

In the upper reaches of the Moraine Stream, at the westernmost foot of Conglomerate Mountain, lakes of glacial origin are "sheltered" among the moraine piles, reflecting the mirror surface of the water in the sun.
They are bordered by a mixed forest, which gives the area an exceptionally picturesque appearance.
There are a lot of fish in the lakes: large perch, fatty pelage and pike.
With a neoprene suit, snorkeling and underwater video equipment, those wishing to make unique shots of rare fish can take advantage of their free time to explore the lakes for mountain ichthyofauna.
Visiting the lakes will not be difficult, but it will give you the most complete picture of this mountainous country.
In addition, lovers of mineralogy can collect a collection of minerals and semiprecious stones.
There are very rich deposits of rock crystal, garnets, hematites and other semiprecious stones in the Circumpolar Urals.
To the east of the lakes, through the pass, are the Mankhobe Glacier, the Aleshkov Ranges, the Pyramid and the Khobe-yu River with mountain trout lakes and Death Valley, infamous for the glacier that descended with huge boulders in ancient times.
From the top of the Conglomerate mountain, you can see the high mountain peaks located in the west.

For those who want to diversify their vacation in the mountains and actively spend time without tedious radial trips, staying near the shelter is recommended an exciting event — a short refreshing rafting along the canyon of the Kosyu River — "Pipe" on inflatable mattresses in neoprene suits.
Rafting is recommended only for physically developed tour participants who can swim.
Rafting starts from the mouth of the Moraine stream or from the Track threshold and continues 5-8 km along the Kos River flowing at the foot of the mountain range. Bear's paw on the picturesque threshold of the "Pipe" with surprisingly clear, transparent cold water.
The "Track" threshold, whose name appeared because of the slope of the water, like a treadmill canvas, is characterized by a sharp turn of the river and an inclined rock, on which the water stream rushes.
A canyon begins 10 km from the threshold, at the exit of which there is a rock-rock — "Bezgil".
The threshold "Bezgil", which is also conventionally called a threshold, is a serious obstacle in high water, since the entire stream of water rushes to the rock.
There are very deep pits between the rapids.
The deepest, 10 m— is the "Round Pit" beyond the threshold of Bezgil.
In some places, the river has cut a path through the rocks, forming a rock gate, narrowing in these places to 10 m.
In the process of the alloy, the equipment for safe alloy is necessarily used.: safety and life jackets, as well as snorkeling gear.

Day 7 - Climbing Manaragu

The seventh day of the helicopter tour is reserved and is provided in case of bad weather in the mountains.
Under suitable weather conditions, an additional trekking route is possible with an ascent to Mount Manaragu from the eastern side of the ridge.
Access to the mountains is carried out in the early morning.
Manaraga is one of the inaccessible peaks of the Circumpolar Urals.
Its dissected crest consists of six high, sharp peaks.
When climbing Manaraga from the Shelter, the participants of the trip will have to go up the Manaraga River to the "Cedar" on the Manaraga Creek (near the forest border, 5 km from the Manaraga shelter), then climb for 5 km to an altitude of about 1200 m, which will take about 8 hours round trip.
From the Manaragi shelter, tourists head up the valley of the Manaragi River 5 km to the Cedar Creek, go up the stream, enter the eastern circus and climb the traverse to the northeastern shoulder of the peak.
The steep ascent to the first, northern peak begins.
The higher the height, the steeper the climb, the larger the kurumnik.
You should move carefully: there are "living" stones and snow deposits on kurumnik.
The group passes the last section of the path along the left edge of the peak, where there is a recreation area.
Further movement is carried out only for professional climbers — to go with rope safety, and in some places to cut steps in the hard rock (within the framework of the program, climbing the teeth of Mount Manaraga is not provided).
The total time for a day trip is 10-12 hours.
Every 40 minutes of walking, the team stops for short pauses of 5-10 minutes in order to regain strength.
After a short rest and a hot lunch, it is the beginning of the return to the base stationary camp.

Day 8 - Return flight

In case of non-flying weather conditions, it is possible to delay the flight indefinitely, corresponding to the waiting time for suitable weather conditions.

In the absence of flight weather, the flight may be delayed from several hours to several days.
The safety of removal from the flight route is the most important criterion in the organization of helicopter expeditions.
At around 14:00-16:00 hours, the flight arrives at a special site located on the outskirts of the village.
Boarding is performed only at the command of the pilot.
The board is loaded in a minimum time not exceeding 3 minutes.
Return flight, flight duration is 2 hours.
Arrival to the civilization in the afternoon, in the evening (in flight weather).

Hand and face cream against chapping, hygienic lipstick (if necessary).
